The Bug:
The word "Wi-Fi" is spelled as "WiFi" within a launcher string used to compare game features.
This is a valid issue because Microsoft considers usages other than "Wi-Fi" to be incorrect. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/style-guide/a-z-word-list-term-collections/w/wi-fi
Wi-Fi is a proper noun and a registered trademark. Capitalize and hyphenate when referring specifically to Wi-Fi technologies. Don’t use WiFi, wifi, or Wifi.
Below is a table I've constructed that highlights this error. You can find information about what the current and expected string is and would be, some context regarding it, and a link to the appropriate string on crowdin.
Affected String:
Before reading the table, please note the following:
- Words colored in GREEN are correct.
- Words colored in RED are incorrect.
Current String | Expected/Suggested String | String Context | String URL on Crowdin |
---|---|---|---|
LAN or WiFi Multiplayer | LAN or Wi-Fi Multiplayer | #: ..\..\apps\launcher\src\components\OneVanillaPDP\OVCompareFeatures\index.tsx:153 | https://crowdin.com/translate/minecraft-launcher/9420/en-engb#5296138 |
