Hello,
I'm currently experiencing an issue with the new Java Edition + Bedrock account purchased from the Microsoft store 2 days ago. After purchasing a brand new account, I logged into the launcher and registered a java edition username and everything was fine. After about 12-24 hours, I logged out and back into my account and was asked to 'Enter a username for Minecraft: Java Edition' but I've already registered a name.
If I logout again and log back into my account it will correctly register that I own minecraft java edition and my username will correctly show up and allow me to login again. My login session with my username is usually valid for about 1 day until relogging will trigger the same bug.
I have a second brand new Java + Bedrock account that doesn't have a name on it and I did further testing, and it seems after logging into the launcher the microsoft account token provided is invalid. Trying to claim a profile on it will return the following error:
{
"path": "/minecraft/profile",
"errorType": "BAD_REQUEST",
"error": "BAD_REQUEST",
"errorMessage": "Could not create profile",
"developerMessage": "Could not create profile",
"details":
}
If I login to my account using minecraft.net I can see that I own minecraft and have the option to claim my name and suddenly the same token that was NOT_ENTITLED previously can now claim a profile. Note: Simply logging into microsoft.com isn't enough to make the token/login session entitled to claim a profile name.
I believe this is a bug with the Mojang API and launcher not recognizing that newly purchased Java + Bedrock combo accounts are entitled to the game until you visit minecraft.net every 24 hours or something else internally updates and the token is allowed to claim a profile.
