After logging into my Microsoft account in the MC launcher and quitting the game, restarting the launcher remembers my MS account and displays it in the account list. Clicking on it, however, causes an error to occur and I'm thrown to the standard "Login with a Microsoft/Mojang account" screen. In the terminal, here is what is outputted:
https://launchermeta.mojang.com/v1/products/launcher/6f083b80d5e6fabbc4236f81d0d8f8a350c665a9/linux.json [1228/150341.733600:INFO:main_context.cpp(136)] CEF initialized successfully. This issue causes me to have to type in my email and password every time I try to start the game. Tested on the latest Debian version available from the Minecraft download page.
