Windows 11 BSOD after running Optifine 1.16.5 in a custom directory

When running a profile with version 1.16.5-OptiFine_HD_U_G8 and the default profile directory, the game runs fine. But, as soon as I change the profile directory to something custom and try to run it, I get a BSOD (technically green, since this is Windows 11) with the error "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION". It says the program that failed is "wfics.exe". This happens every time.

The problem does not present itself with the "Latest Snapshot" profile, so it's either an error with 1.16.5 or that particular version of OptiFine. However, it works perfectly in the original launcher, so I think it's a result of launcher behavior that changed when migrating to the Windows app version.
