Unconfirmed
I recently updated to Windows 11 and was instructed to install the new Minecraft launcher as well, which I did so through the Xbox app (although I later installed it through the website, which had the same issue).
Now, whenever I hit "Play" on Java Edition, on whatever version, it begins processing, and then my entire PC shuts down and restarts.
If I uninstall and reinstall the launcher, it gets into the game the first couple of times, but after that, it crashes every time.
It originally only affected 1.17.1 (latest release), but it also occurs when adding the 1.17.1 version separately. I managed to get in okay with 1.16.5 a couple of times, but then the same issue occurred, leading me to believe it's a launcher issue.
I've tried this multiple times, with nothing else running.
I don't have any crash reports (likely because of a new install and the game not actually starting), so I've attached the launcher log instead.
I also don't know how to reinstall the old launcher, so for the time being, I'm locked out of the game.
