Unconfirmed
The minecraft unified launcher (The one available through Minecraft.net, which allows the player to play both Dungeons and Java Edition) will not execute.
After installing Windows 10, The launcher has never been able to be executed. It simply shows a brief moment where the loading symbol appears above the mouse indicator, but then disappears. No new tasks are shown in the task manager, including Java instances. It has been installed and reinstalled multiple times, along with other things such as Java and the Graphics drivers. Trying to run as administrator does not change anything, and neither does disabling all security software.
I am able to play Minecraft but only through third-party products (Such as Technic or MultiMC), so it is not an issue with executing the game, but the launcher itself.
I Have experienced the same issue with the .msi installer too, where a recent download will not run, but upon renaming the file or downloading a copy, it works fine (For some strange reason. I have absolutely no idea why this happens or how it could happen.) The same 'solution' has not worked with the launcher.
EDIT: There is no way to provide crash logs as there aren't any being generated. I will reiterate: The launcher will not execute at all, No new processes are being opened, I don't get a crash or error message. The launcher is simply completely unable to be executed. a .minecraft folder on %appdata% is not being generated, and the only content of the minecraft launcher folder is the executable itself.
