I have the Java edition of Minecraft downloaded on my Mac laptop and the launcher won't open the game at all. I can get the launcher to open but as soon as I press play to get the game running it won't open.

I have tried to delete the launcher and re-download it but that still does not work. I have checked other applications on my laptop (such as my ad-blocker) to see if they are interfering and they don't appear to. I've tried ton have the beta version of the launcher going and that doesn't work either. 

It is saying the latest release on the server is 1.16.4 so I don't know if that has anything to. do with it?
