Confirmed
Close down Minecraft before interacting with the launcher, or go to settings and enable "Keep Launcher open while games are running."
I am unable to fill out the input fields in the Minecraft Launcher if the game is already running. So whenever I need a second account for development and the launcher forgot my session (which happens quite often, very annoying) I need to quit the running game.
If I click in one of the input fields it seems as it got selected (white border + blinking cursor) but whatever I type will get typed in the last selected window. For example if I have typed something in the game and then go to the Launcher the letters appear in-game in chat. This happens to other windows like Safari, too. If the last focused window has no active input field a macOS error sound is played.
Nevertheless pasting contents into the input with right click -> paste works. CMD + V results in the same behavior described above.
