Minecraft opens up, loads for a small bit, then lags forever until closed, with the Exit Code 0. I only just bought the game today, so I don't know if that's the issue, or it's the problem with something else. I've been looking through other issue reports about this but I don't know if there's a fix for it already or not. I've also checked the logs and when I closed Minecraft after crashing it gave me a different Exit Code, -805306369, but it still gave me Exit Code 0 on the launcher. I don't know what Exit Code -805306369 is but I really hope this issue can be resolved eventually.

Small edit. This crash only happens when I try to play Minecraft versions 1.9 and upwards.

Update: Hi, uh, so it turns out the answer WAS in another issue report! I feel sorta dumb rn, but I'm glad I get to play Minecraft Java now!
