I am having some issues launching the new Minecraft 1.6 launcher. I am using a MacBook Pro (OS X) version 10.6.3. I clicked on both the link on the login page of Minecraft and the link on the "Singleplayer/Multiplayer" page to get the new launcher, and clicked the link to instal the new launcher for Mac/OSX on both pages as well. It downloads the same download from either page. When I download it, it asks me to drag Minecraft into my applications folder, so I do. I've opened up the new launcher from both my applications folder and from the downloads folder, and it brings up the page (I assume it is suppose to, for my brother downloaded it and the same page popped up, but his works fine). The Minecraft login page is to the left of on new window (under "Update Notes"), and to the right it has different options, etc. My username pops up and I click "play". A bunch of code then pops up under "Development Console" and stays there (I don't start playing the new Minecraft). Another thing I noticed when I click to play, is that by my applications bar (at the bottom of the screen) a crafting bench pops up next to the new launcher, like it's a new app, but then quickly disappears. I've tried clicking on it but nothing happens. I have tried this whole process (including re-downloading the new launcher) many times, but I keep having the same issue.
If you need more information, please let me know and I can't wait to play Minecraft 1.6
