Gamepad joystick dead zone setting is NOT being respected for gamepads 2, 3 and 4 in local co-op.
Whichever dead zone setting I use, I can feel and confirm that it applies ONLY to gamepad 1 and none other.
Example: take three older XBox360 gamepads, all three with several years of wear and tear. Start a new local co-op game. Player 1 (gamepad 1) works flawlessly. Players 2 and 3 have intermittent dead zone issues where characters keep walking on their own or rolling unexpectedly. Change dead zone settings in the Options: no change. Now change the order of gamepads by switching them all off and switching back on one by one. Start the game again. Same behavior! Player 1 has no problems, players 2 and 3 are unplayable, even though the gamepads have been rotated around. Just to confirm the experiment: set the dead zone setting in the game's options screen to minimum: now all three players have dead zone issues.
So it is clear that the feature that was intended to combat dead zone issues has a bug. It applies only to player 1, while it is completely forgotten for players 2, 3 and 4.
The bug is not so obvious because default dead zone settings that are hardcoded for all 4 players work correctly for most newer gamepads. Hence, if one is testing with brand new gamepads, they can't experience this bug.
This leaves a bad taste in one's mouth as from other 300 games I have and play on my Steam PC, none exhibits this problem. Truth to be told, Overcooked had this problem for a short time until they patched it.
Hope you'll be able to find this bug and it will prove to be an easy fix.
Thanks.
Cheers!
