I've lost about 5 hours of progress today. I started playing around 12pm GMT+1, and when I came back about an hour ago, I couldn't access the game. I got the error "Unable to verify ownership". I tried restarting the game, the launcher, logging off and in again for about half an hour.

Someone suggested reinstalling the game, and so I did. And now I've lost my character.

I'm more intrigued about how a game with as much replayability and progression as this one doesn't have server-side backups for people's characters. Imagine logging in on Diablo III, having invested dozens of hours on your champion to lose it all if you reinstall the game.

Is it intended, or was it a bug? Given how you guys are going to drop dlc on the future, and as I'd want to come back to the game in that instance, I'm definitely not willing to start over every single time I want to try something new.
