Description of issue:
I configured my initial bedrock server as a local/private server and the default permissions level for a user was set to members. Now that I have opened my server to the net, I would like to update this configuration from member to visitor, the bedrock server is not honoring the config value. This is related to the settings used when the map was created.
This bug impedes a server administrators ability to harden servers on the fly and prevents realistic response to the griefing pandemic that is circulating the minecraft world.
With this in mind. What are some some ways to workaround this issue?
Testing method:
BDS - create new world with permissions level set to member.
Login to server and observe the default permission created for your character.
BDS - Shutdown server, update setting in server.properties and change default player level to visitor.
Login with new user and observe membership level. (It will remain assigning 'member' even though the config reflects visitor.)
I understand the alpha nature of this project.
Affected platforms:
windows bds
linux bds
