[MCPE-9059] Locked out of servers and chat

                <project id="10200" key="MCPE">Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)</project>

Hi there,
My son was playing around with font colors, trying to make the letters in his user name different colors, but as he was trying to change it, he deleted/backspaced all the letters so that he could re-do them, but now he can't type anything in anymore. He can't go into servers. Can't get into chat, either.
For example, when he clicks the icon with the wrench and gets to the page entitled "options", there is a gray box to enter "name" (and below that is "sound volume", "difficulty", "third person view" and "local server multiplayer".) When he clicks the box to enter his name, the screen changes to keyboard, but even though you touch any key, no letters will appear within the box. Its like its locked or something.
Also, on the main screen where you click "Play", it will take you to a page with a list of servers, but if you click on a server, a new screen appears that says "Please choose a valid username" with a button "ok" underneath it.
He is quite upset - how do I fix this!??!
Thank you so much!

What it should do:
Keep you from typing in a minecraft name with color would fix this because when you put in the § symbol and the number, it shows it as nothing is there.

This looks exactly like what happens EXCEPT - that we do not have a cursor at all - the box is completely blank. Your cursor is in red after you change the font color. Our cursor has disappeared altogether!??
</comment>

1. Do not use the § symbol.
2. I have a link to a video to help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgve4daGiBc
</comment>

We tried backspacing a gazillion times, then tried typing in his name - same problem.
We tried backspacing another gazillion times, then tried to use the § to possible change the font back to normal (NOT a color) and still nothing.
I feel like we're getting close since you reproduced the problem, though! What are we doing wrong?
Thanks so much!
</comment>

When it says you have no characters keep pressing the backspace button like 5 times. I reproduced it and fixed it. When you use the symbol §, it shoes as invisible and so does the number in front of it so just keep hitting backspace. Then type in your MCPE name, remember not in color, and it should work just fine.
</comment>
                            <comment id="232083" author="vogelsher" created="Wed, 24 Jun 2015 00:25:41 +0200"  >
So how do we get the letters "back?" We tried restarting the iPad, we tried using the "§ " to change the font back to normal, but no keys work at all. We just can't navigate via the two sections I mentioned above. =-((
</comment>

MCPE is set up so that colors and symbols do not "work" for servers or anything of that nature. You can only use normal letters to make your name. Hope this helped
</comment>
