Will try the sword on wood.
</comment>
                            <comment id="28334" author="kellbyb" created="Fri, 14 Dec 2012 14:04:56 +0100"  >
I have observed some benefits with other tools - for example, wood does break slightly faster when using a sword, and pickaxes and axes deal mode damage per hit than fists. Also, the efficiency enchantment can help break certain items, such as wood and dirt, break faster even when on unsuited tools.
</comment>

This is probably because, unlike other tools, hoes provide no benefit at all when doing anything other than the intended function.
</comment>
