[MCPE-644] Some sounds are not correct on iOS

                <project id="10200" key="MCPE">Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)</project>

Minecraft PE has numerous problems regarding sound effects.

First of all android and ios mcpe sounds should be the same!
Secondly the sounds are incorrect on ios because they are supposed to use the sounds befor e minecraft 1.4 and for some reason they have been like that since 0.3.0.

There is no ambient water sound on ios
Wrong Sand Sound, Gravel, Dirt, Stone, Wood
No burp sound (at the end of eating like in PC version)
No drinking sound for mushroom stew
There is a ladder sound in the files but it should not be there! and if it is it should be included
No skeleton death sound
There is the new snow sound in the files but is unused.
Walking on the Melon stem makes the same sound as wood.

If they are going to stick to the classic sounds of minecraft they should update the tnt, player hurt sounds to PC 1.0 and onwwards or get the original door and bow sounds from beta (which would make alot more sense)

The developers are not taking sound seriously. Sound is half of your gaming experience and games need responsive and correct sound effects. The developers should look through when they are testing because the sounds are all over the place!

That will be sad for the iPhone 4 and 3GS users. Tommo (a developer of MCPE) said that he will upgrade it to 2 .0 or 3.0 in 1.0.0, this will also give cheap tinted blocks, frame buffers.
</comment>

                            <comment id="23251" author="mineplasm" created="Mon, 19 Nov 2012 11:03:16 +0100"  >
I apologize. Yeah i can tell that the "classic" sounds are the ones wanted first of all because they were in mcpe before and were fixed for android and pe is meant to be a mobile, solid, general, simpler version of what minecraft is.
The sounds i am reffering to are post beta/pre 1.4 (specifically the 1.0 sounds) I just thought it would be a good idea not just to correct the sounds but possibly also use the original bow and door sounds since mcpe in alpha. This is not a personal opinion, i just think the sound in mcpe should be perfected and the developers should recognize the flaws. I did not mean to target anyone in a negative way. Also android sounds and ios should be the same in the first place (consistency is needed) so all I am asking is for the ios version to have the fixed, added and classic sounds from android mcpe 0.5.0.

Death sound for skeleton needs to be added
Burp Sound after eating (after chewing sounds)
Drinking sound
water ambience sound and maybe backdate bow and door sounds to original

Thanks!
</comment>
                            <comment id="23244" author="do" created="Mon, 19 Nov 2012 10:40:38 +0100"  >
Alright, so the main issues here are that the sounds are different between iOS and Android, and some sounds are missing or unused.

You say that the classic sounds are the ones wanted for MCPE... do you have a reference for that? That's the kind of thing that would improve this ticket a lot; that way we can quickly figure out if you're representing the developers actual intentions, and not just your own opinions.

Your last paragraph just seems like a vague ad hominem attack against nobody in particular; I'm not sure where you're going with that, but please try to keep the conversation constructive.
</comment>
                            <comment id="23239" author="mineplasm" created="Mon, 19 Nov 2012 10:05:04 +0100"  >
OK. The dirt, sand, wood, stone sounds that are currently in 0.5.0 are from minecraft PC 1.4. These sounds somehow got in 0.3.0 and these were fixed for android in 0.5.0 but not ios. The classic sounds of minecraft (as they are called since PC version 1.4 came out) are the ones wanted and used but only fixed for android.

Minecraft has an ambient water sound (only in android even though its in the ios mcpe files)
gravel1.m4a is not in the game or files
The skeleton_death.m4a is missing
also there is meant to be a drinking sound for mushroom stew
and ever since the eating animation was added in the pc version there was chewing and a burp at the end which is absent in mcpe.

I would also like to say to the ignorant people who say the sounds are meant to be different to take them seriously, play more, lidten more, do their research and understand what i mean when i say the developers should look into this because there are problems. I notice because i care.
</comment>
                            <comment id="23110" author="do" created="Mon, 19 Nov 2012 01:17:25 +0100"  >
eklektoi, the issue here seems to be that the sounds aren't the same between iOS/Android, among other things...

Sabin, can you explain what you mean by "Wrong Sand Sound, Gravel, Dirt, Stone, Wood" ... are the sounds mixed up, like one material has the sound of another? If so, can you give a detailed account of how they are mixed up exactly?
</comment>
                            <comment id="22241" author="ekl" created="Fri, 16 Nov 2012 20:50:37 +0100"  >
As most of the Mods will say, 'Pocket Edition is not the same as PC/Mac Version ... and things will be added/changed at different times and if it seems necessary'

As for hearing sound delays - it might have to do with the amount of RAM on your iPod Touch ... if there is not a lot of memory going towards an app or program, it might take awhile for the app/program to register commands.

Thanks for posting this, though - ekl
</comment>
