[MCPE-347] Weird textures: Moiré pattern on bricks

These screenshots look normal from the distance, but if you look closer, you can see some weird round, wavy shapes and stripes on the brick roof of the building.

Don't know if this is a glitch, because this also happens to PC Minecraft. To me, it looks really weird.

It's because the game has lower resolution than what most devices can handle, though it might still be noticeable with higher resolution, though a bit less.
</comment>

However they require quite a big engine/texture change and will be probably only available in 0.8 and only on some devices on fancy graphics.

Also, that's always happened in PC too.
</comment>

                            <comment id="11330" author="do" created="Thu, 11 Oct 2012 23:13:40 +0200"  >
It's a visual effect called a "Moiré pattern."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moir%C3%A9_pattern

Usually it can be avoided in OpenGL apps by generating mipmaps, not sure why they're so bad in PE (I've noticed them too).
</comment>
