I placed my bed at the edge of the map, and slept on it. After I died, I respawned at the bed location, however it was so high up I could barely see the ground. Luckily I was able to walk to water nearby to fall safely to the ground.

There was a similar issue to <del>MCPE-51</del> that didn't involve beds (everything else was pretty much identical), I wonder if that's working now...
</comment>
                            <comment id="15141" author="degussa" created="Mon, 29 Oct 2012 20:06:56 +0100"  >
@Eelco de Lang, yeah, I basically picked this cause had comments trying to figure things out. I acknowledged your report though, and left a comment about it .

@Do: <del>MCPE-51</del> was marked as fixed, and this bug still occured, so I would say they were different
</comment>

A later ticket might provide more information or have some useful comments, or one of the developers may have just happened to notice the newer ticket first.

What I'm trying to figure out is how this is any different from <del>MCPE-51</del>.
</comment>

I check hard the issue was not reported yet.
Now, somehow it feels like, somebody stole my issue
</comment>

I think if you could see the invisible bedrock, this behavior wouldn't seem any different than <del>MCPE-51</del>, and I'd bet money that when 51 goes away, this goes away too. Of course I could be wrong; in that case we can reopen this.

BTW I think you are right, I don't think this has anything to do with beds specifically, I suspect beds just provide better conditions for reproducing the bug.
</comment>
                            <comment id="11329" author="bluebirdy17" created="Thu, 11 Oct 2012 21:54:25 +0200"  >
There are similarities, but not sure if this is a true duplicate since even though both reenter world at a different height than when saved, the other instances seem to have you safely on the surface. This instance has you falling from sky to death. I had it happen before when was inside a mountain tunnel and reopened game on the mountain surface instead without a scratch.

I just entered a world I hadn't accessed for a month and was confused to see a black screen(was night). Little did I know I was plummeting from the sky to my death. Place where game loaded was also at the edge of map, but spawn point was somewhere else. No beds were involved in my instance, but based on where fell I was within 3 blocks of a house located at ground level at the edge of world (not inside or underground). But then guess is similar in the sense rejoining the game at a different height than you were when last save/quit...
</comment>
