[MCPE-23164] Not loading on wifi - no multiplayer

                <project id="10200" key="MCPE">Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)</project>

For the past couple of weeks no-one in our household has been able to access minecraft pe while our wifi is switched on, meaning we cannot play multiplayer together. With wifi switched on all we get is a white screen after the mojang loading screen. With wifi off it loads easily and all options are available and we can play all our worlds. If we turn on wifi during play it works if we're already on a world, but freezes if we're still on the options page. We've all bought this so we can play together, which we did easily up to a couple of weeks ago, so this is really frustrating

Noticed once the white screen went away, I could see a Global Resources Error and the screen was frozen. Backed up worlds, deleted app, reinstalled and turned off wifi and it works fine. Turn on wifi, and it whitescreens and crashes. There are no resource packs installed just the one the game comes with.
</comment>
                            <comment id="400476" author="jerrydbuy1" created="Sun, 20 Aug 2017 06:39:36 +0200"  >
I'm seeing the same issue, though from a more specific cause. I've got a local WiFi LAN that has no Internet access that I use to let kids play together while guaranteeing their parents that they can't surf the Internet instead of playing. Lately (sorry, can't pin down which most recent version broke it), if the kids fire up MCPE with WiFi on and connected to my neutered LAN, they get the white screen described. Turning off WiFi on their device causes a Global Resource Crash, but they are then able launch and play their own games. Turning WiFi back on causes their game to freeze. [Side note: this seems to be a new behavior for MCPE, as I've always previously found that the only way to get a game to recognize a change in WiFi access was to quit and restart the game.] However, if I shift all the players to a WiFi network with Internet access, they have no issues, as before. So, as PHO surmises, I suspect there's something going on when the game is trying to find peers to form a multiplayer game that gets hung up if it can't get a response to queries trying to find WAN peers/resources. Those two things (LAN peers and WAN options/resources) need to be separated, with some robust error handling, especially if games are now able to sense changes in WiFi access mid stream.
</comment>

Something must have regressed in 1.1.x updates.
</comment>

We hoped this update would fix it. I think it's been since the last major update at the beginning of June.
</comment>
                            <comment id="392608" author="babypeanutz" created="Tue, 4 Jul 2017 15:17:25 +0200"  >
If you're on a world and turn the wifi on then you can continue to play that world without a problem, but on the options pages - choosing a world / signing in then the game freezes and none of the buttons are clickable. If wifi is on while loading minecraft then there is only a white screen after the mojang screen.
Playing over 3G/4g or without any connection there is no problem, but obviously we're unable to join each other's worlds. We all are experiencing the same thing. We're playing in a iPhone 6, an iPhone 5s and an iPod 4, and we're all updated to the latest 1.1.2 since 27th June.
</comment>

That's strange. I can't repro it on my iPad Pro.
</comment>
