[MCPE-19694] Game becomes unresponsive after clicking "Play" at title screen

                <project id="10200" key="MCPE">Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)</project>

[NB this report concerns Minecraft Apple TV Edition v.1.0.0 on Apple TV 4th gen (A1625) 64GB]

When the game is launched, it displays a menu with "Play", "Settings" and "Store" buttons, and plays background music and panning landscape background image.

Clicking the "Play" button causes the UI to become unresponsive (no response to any buttons on Siri Remote or MFi controller). BGM continues playing but background animation freezes. In some cases, after a long (>1 minute) delay, a world selection screen appears, but this is also unresponsive, and the background animation remains frozen. Once the background music track finishes, it does not restart.

Steps to reproduce: this behavior always happens on my configuration (64GB Apple TV, SteelSeries Stratus MFi controller with latest firmware as of 5 Jan 2017).

It's sold for money on an App Store that explicitly forbids beta software, and not labeled as beta, and has a 1.0 version number, and doesn't provide an easy way of reporting bugs (I had to search for this site, which doesn't even list the software in question)...
</comment>
                            <comment id="353548" author="kgl_bombypig" created="Tue, 10 Jan 2017 22:03:11 +0100"  >
Minecraft on the Apple TV is DEEPLY into beta. A couple bugs or two are expected, but stuff like this is the reason betas are really hard, as the new software is entirely different and the game isn't fully developed for the software. Give it a couple updates, and it should be solved soon.* In the meantime, wait about 5 minutes on the world selection screen. It should EVENTUALLY load. The game should be fine after that, as it is probably loading new hardware into a newly made version.*
</comment>
