[MCPE-19612] Performance

                <project id="10200" key="MCPE">Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)</project>

The world size is 94.6mb and after exploring for a couple hours now it seems when it's chunk loading, or something, the fps drop and my CPU usage shoots to 95% for some reason. I've tried various things to remedy the problem, but it appears there's nothing that can be done on my end.

                            <comment id="390830" author="anzestral" created="Sun, 25 Jun 2017 17:15:42 +0200"  >
I have the same problem on my i7-4770k (with a gtx 780 ti) and Minecraft 1.1.2 running on an SSD. I typically play with a render distance of 32 chunks but the issue also appears with much lower distances.

On fresh worlds everything runs smooth with cpu loads of just a few percent when idle or just moving around the map very little. Going to unexplored parts of the map the cpu load increases to around 20%, so generation of new chunks doesn't seem to be the issue. However, after playing for some time and exploring more of the map (starting at map sizes around 50Mb) I started to experience cpu load spikes to 100% causing strong lag and decrease of fps for several seconds even when not exploring new parts of the map.

This only appears when I launch the map locally (on two different machines). Exporting the map to a realm results in no lag (although the load on the realm might also spike), so I assume it's no problem with the rendering but rather with loading existing chunks.
</comment>

                            <comment id="371964" author="morgwenna" created="Tue, 14 Mar 2017 12:18:53 +0100"  >
Agree it still affects 1.0.4 but improved. Oceans and dense tree chunks are still slow when loading. Worse when you hold a map see MCPE 18427.
</comment>
                            <comment id="371696" author="darkelord" created="Sun, 12 Mar 2017 15:55:44 +0100"  >
Affects 1.0.4
</comment>
                            <comment id="370004" author="nilmagus" created="Tue, 28 Feb 2017 03:11:17 +0100"  >
When I've explored a fair amount of the map, similar to OP's world size (101.3Mb here), I experience similar performance issues.

Specs:
Core i7 7700K
16Gb DDR4-3000
ASUS GTX 1070

There is no reason this PC should be pegged at 100% CPU while travelling, when the Java version works fine. There's a several second delay when porting from the overworld to the nether or back, and nothing but particles load during this time. I dropped my chunk viewing distance to 40 and particle distance to 60, with very little noticeable difference.
</comment>
                            <comment id="359494" author="samgamgee55" created="Sat, 11 Feb 2017 21:47:04 +0100"  >
This isn't a bug, it's the computer trying to preform all the tasks Minecraft PE is throwing at it. So I'd say this isn't a MCPE problem.
</comment>
                            <comment id="358914" author="darkelord" created="Fri, 10 Feb 2017 08:28:31 +0100"  >
This bug is still not fixed in 1.0.3.
</comment>
                            <comment id="354597" author="flesh420" created="Mon, 16 Jan 2017 22:11:04 +0100"  >
Yes. That's happened to two worlds of mine. And it's repeatable every time. The more chunks it seems, the more lag.
</comment>
                            <comment id="354506" author="zoerbshun" created="Mon, 16 Jan 2017 14:24:35 +0100"  >
I have this issue also and it is also repeatable.
Steps to reproduce:
1. create new world, any seed, creative or survival.
2. travel in the world in a straight line, any direction about 4096 chunks. (approx. 2, 1:16 scale maps)
3. watch your CPU usage pin to 100% as you travel.

So as you add more chunks to your game data. the more lag the game experiences.
</comment>
                            <comment id="352435" author="flesh420" created="Wed, 4 Jan 2017 17:49:03 +0100"  >
When the world was first created there wasn't any lag, at least not like this. But a buddy and I traveled for hours and now it's laggy. So that's why I think it might be a chunk loading issue, or something. I'll probably create another world with infinite unticked and test.
</comment>
                            <comment id="352375" author="phoenixpinion99" created="Wed, 4 Jan 2017 11:36:15 +0100"  >
I'm not sure though, but it's sure laggy when flying in creative mode, even if the world's size is small, right? So let's just say this issue have something to with loading chunks... I'm not so sure myself.
</comment>
                            <comment id="352351" author="flesh420" created="Wed, 4 Jan 2017 08:10:18 +0100"  >
Now the world size is 101.3mb?
</comment>
