When moving an chest into 5 blocks explosion range can blocks blowing the chest and if a smaller offset of Ignited TNT can cause disappear the chest without dropping tile, The 2nd and 3rd delay of redstone repeater can be use to adjust the timing needs to be accurate and perfect timing between moving chest and TNT Explosion.
</comment>

                            <comment id="796646" author="silentwisperer" created="Thu, 27 Aug 2020 08:41:19 +0200"  >
This issue still affects 1.16.20

This is a parity issue as well. On java edition block 36 (a moving block) will have no blast resistance, and will be dropped by explosions. Moving blocks on bedrock are the opposite, they cannot be destroyed by explosions at all.

How to reproduce:
1. Create a system like the image above.
2. Activate a TNT, then 41 ticks later (using 11 repeaters) active a piston pushing a block.
3. The TNT explosion will not destroy the moving block. If even the moving block is something with very low blast resistance usually, like a slime block or netherrack.

Expected result:
The moving block should be exploded/destroyed by the TNT, or other explosion.
</comment>

To Ryan, the fact that an item becomes an entity during the transition has nothing to do with it as tnt should also destroy any entities in the blast radius. Java Minecraft behavior results in moving items being destroyed.
</comment>

When a block is being pushed by a piston, it turns into an entity, rather than a block, so that it can be animated. So while the piston is in between states of extended and retracted, it turns into an entity and some physics do not apply.
</comment>
