zombies created by the player (e.g spawn eggs in creative or with player created spawners) never create zombies that can pick up items

A certain percentage of zombies created by the game can pick up items

There is no command to summon zombies (or create a spawn egg) that has the pick up items tag in bedrock

are these correct?
</comment>

As CrampedSpider72 mentioned, not all mobs have the ability to pick up loot, only a percentage of them do.
</comment>
                            <comment id="669882" author="crampedspider72" created="Sat, 18 Apr 2020 21:57:54 +0200"  >
They still do. Remember, not all zombies can pick up loot(much like baby zombies can ride other mobs). Though there is an issue where if they pick up other items(items that are not armor or weapons) and you kill them, they won't drop those items. This also includes elytra. Basically whatever they do not equip, disappears.
</comment>

Tested in MCPE 0.14.2 single player creative (hardest difficulty) on my Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920W8), Android 5.1.1.

I've never observed a mob pick up an item in MCPE, so I thought I'd test it empirically.

To test I built a bedrock lined 3x3x3 hole, dropped in some items that would be tempting for a zombie to wield (see Wiki) and egg-spawned me a pile of zombies. None picked up the items. I blew them up with TNT (thus the bedrock lining) and repeated about 20 times. None of the zombies picked up items. From this I concluded zombies don't pick up items in MCPE.

I'm still uncertain if this is a bug or a feature that's not yet implemented.
</comment>
