At the very least there should be a toggle in the accessibility or video settings that shows the number.
</comment>

Adding it to the game would help a lot in some scenarios when the amount of items you have matter
</comment>

Could this be reopened now?

Fixing this would bring the bedrock version one step closer to being equal with the Java version.
</comment>
                            <comment id="287618" author="depressed-pho" created="Fri, 19 Feb 2016 04:38:24 +0100"  >
Yes it's inconsistent. I completely agree with _0x10c. But since the creative inventory is still a work in progress, it is very likely that devs are aware of this inconsistency and will fix it later.
</comment>
                            <comment id="287555" author="_0x10c" created="Fri, 19 Feb 2016 00:13:25 +0100"  >
Let me list my arguments:

1) This "feature" is not present in any other versions of Minecraft.

2) This is inconsistent. Showing items numbers only in your inventory or in a chest is not continuous.

3) This is just plain annoying. Making me open my inventory just to see how many dirt blocks I have is annoying.
</comment>
                            <comment id="287520" author="hypercamel" created="Thu, 18 Feb 2016 22:53:44 +0100"  >
I think I'm going to agree with the other commenters on this one, it's a WAI issue.
</comment>
                            <comment id="287514" author="_0x10c" created="Thu, 18 Feb 2016 22:45:00 +0100"  >
Then item numbers should be visible nowhere.
</comment>
                            <comment id="287221" author="mega_spud" created="Thu, 18 Feb 2016 15:24:48 +0100"  >
I think this WAI. (You don't need multiples of items in creative, as the items don't get used up when placing them. However, you get a full stack when transferring the items in chests/inventory etc)

Edited for clarity.
</comment>
