I expected the torch to place on the floor.

The torch placed on the wall.

How to reproduce
1. Build a tower 1 block wide and 2 blocks high.

2. Build the same tower 1 block away from it

If you don't like playing an alpha version, don't play it. But don't bash on the Mojang team. Making a mobile app this complex takes a lot of work, especially with so many devices to support.
</comment>
                            <comment id="52121" author="androidman2004" created="Tue, 12 Mar 2013 20:40:19 +0100"  >
This BUG happens consistantly in any mode (Creative or Survival) and happens on any Android OS version (I have personally confirmed this on Android OS 2.3, 4.0, and 4.1.2) on any device Phone or Tablet. This bug did not exist in 0.5.0. This bug only affects torch placement. Ladders and signs are NOT affected in the same way at all. This needs to be fixed. I have (in previous versions) been able to place torches in a single block corridor on alternate wall sides and on the top of blocks and now it does not work. Why are we paying $6.99 for a product that is still in Alpha Testing? Mojang has borked software developement for everyone! I am sorry that I do not have to pay for updates. But still keep the improvements coming. It is unacceptable that bugs like this happen and you release it. New players are expected to pay for THIS? Why should they? If it was possible, I would ask for a refund! Or you can pay me to Alpha test this and give me a free version when it is out of Beta!
</comment>

                            <comment id="43352" author="sdwnj" created="Mon, 4 Feb 2013 01:14:22 +0100"  >
There are two different issues with torch placement. One is with placing them in corners, the other is with placing them in one block wide spaces. Both are directional. I'm judging direction by the 2x2 light colored block on the top of a stone block being toward the west. In corners, the torches will only go on north or south facing surfaces. In one block wide spaces, torches will only go on east and north facing surfaces. If you attempt to place one on one of the surfaces they won't go on, they will sort of ricochet off and land on the other surface. I'm attaching screen shots.
</comment>

                            <comment id="43103" author="ayden1232" created="Sun, 3 Feb 2013 15:15:25 +0100"  >
This is a very weird bug, I get it on all my devices with Minecraft PE. But I seem to have found a temporary fix.

What you do is: Break the block you want to put the torch on, then replace it, now try placing the torch.

Sadly, this only works when your trying to place it on a WALL at a corner and it moves to the other wall.
</comment>

Cannot get torches in a 1-block-wide tunnel to stick to the wall side I place them on. I usually put torches on the right side going into a tunnel for orientation, but they end up in front or on the left even though the right wall was tapped.
</comment>

I can't place now torches on ground as I'm usually digging in a 1 block wide space and waiting for bedrock to place a torch. Also, something is wrong with placing torches on dirt, most of the times digging in a 1 block wide space I can place only on stone. Please fix that in 0.6.2 or something...
</comment>

Usually, your cursor overrides the hierarchy, and it only changes sides if you try to place it on a block it can't be placed on.
</comment>
