<project id="10200" key="MCPE">Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)</project>

The furnace on survival mode doesn't allow you to place any form of fuel - coal, wood, planks - into the fuel square in the furnace menu.
This is very annoying as you can't smelt any metals and you can't cook food

I'm so stupid, I didn't realise that you had to click on the fuel icon.
It all works now, there was no bug. I am such an idiot.

Sorry for wasting your time
</comment>

I would agree with ElKameleon's analysis. It seems you only have 1 wood in your inventory. Also, you would have to click on the fuel slot (the bottom left of the 3 boxes in the furnace) and then click on the item in your inventory to place it in the fuel slot, I don't think you can drag and drop them in there. Please let us know if this fixes the issue so I can resolve the ticket.
</comment>

I know that sounds really condescending, but sometimes its the simplest things.
</comment>
                            <comment id="263466" author="mcwin10" created="Mon, 9 Nov 2015 20:55:03 +0100"  >
Thanks for your response, [MCPE Mod] rplatham
Sorry for the late response
Here is a picture of what is happening. I place a wooden block and it shows the resulting output, charcoal. Fine. But there is no way of placing the other wood block as a fuel either by dragging or clicking on the fuel. I am used to Xbox 360 Minecraft so this may be different.

To answer your questions:
Yes it happens on all survival worlds
The same thing happens on multiple worlds
I only bought the game halfway through October and I have always had this problem

I am running Windows 10 on a Sony Vaio 'VGN-NW20SF'
https://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VGN-NW20SF

Any help would be nice
</comment>
                            <comment id="259487" author="rplatham" created="Thu, 29 Oct 2015 14:24:56 +0100"  >
Thanks Sachin, I am running win10 pro on an Asus B121 tablet and my furnaces work fine.

The only fuel items that can no longer be used as fuel are enchanted wooden weapons/tools (this change was intentional).

Does your problem happen to all furnaces in all your worlds?

If this problem only recently started happening, can you describe what you were doing before it started happening?

Please try creating a new world, building a new furnace and placing fuel items in it. Does that work?

Clearly we need more details to understand and fix this problem. Thanks!
</comment>
