Just because something is listed on the wiki, doesn't mean that it's a feature. The wiki documents things as is, not as the devs meant them to be.
</comment>
                            <comment id="388927" author="JIRAUSER71590" created="Thu, 15 Jun 2017 21:08:55 +0200"  >
This is WAI, that it doesn't occure in a default village is not the bug here, nor is it a bug; lowering the requirements or changing the villager spawning sizes are both feature requests.
</comment>
                            <comment id="388916" author="JIRAUSER110344" created="Thu, 15 Jun 2017 19:48:12 +0200"  >
@FVbico Why can't you reopen this one? What year it's from shouldn't matter, it's a bug, and the resolution isn't correct. Read my reddit post and comments for more info.
</comment>
                            <comment id="388862" author="JIRAUSER71590" created="Thu, 15 Jun 2017 13:46:29 +0200"  >
This is an issue from 2013, it will not be reopened, and you will not intentionally create duplicates!
</comment>
                            <comment id="388813" author="JIRAUSER110344" created="Thu, 15 Jun 2017 02:09:18 +0200"  >
@Jermey absolutely. The problem is that mods don't pay attention to old issues like these. I might have to make a new ticket JUST to draw attention to this one...
</comment>

The issue is not if Iron Golems can spawn, it is that they do not spawn because villages do not generate in a way that allows iron golems to spawn.
</comment>
                            <comment id="388552" author="JIRAUSER110344" created="Tue, 13 Jun 2017 13:26:23 +0200"  >
I propose reopening this issue.

I provided my reasoning here. Also, the Minecraft Wiki documents behavior as is, bugs and all. It doesn't just document features. So just because it says it in the wiki, doesn't make it intended behavior.
</comment>

In order to spawn, the village must contain more than 20 doors. One Iron Golem will be able to spawn for every 10 Villagers in a village.
</comment>
