[MC-588] Instant crash of my Minecraft 1.4.2 Client *Major*

                <project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

This has been happening for months with multiple versions. Minecraft up to date, Java up to date.

What I expected to happen was... to be able to load my Minecraft.

What actually happened was... it crashed before the Mojang splash page even showed up (after logging in)

1. Open Minecraft.exe
2. Login (with or without updating)
3. Crash

*Included below are a copy of my minecraft.exe, error report, and .minecraft folder

I went back and updated my graphics drivers and my java. When my Minecraft first crashed a few months back, I hadn't touched either between then and the last time I had opened Minecraft. That's what really confuses me. Any chance of a solution?
</comment>
                            <comment id="14224" author="dinnerbone" created="Sat, 27 Oct 2012 02:05:53 +0200"  >
Please do not mark issues as highly private unless it's an urgent issue that requires the utmost security.

The crash you are getting is a JVM crash. This can be caused by anything but Minecraft. Most likely causes are a corrupt Java installation or bad graphics drivers. Go upgrade and/or reinstall both.
</comment>
