Are you saying it's possible to play Minecraft in better stereoscopic modes than anaglyphic? I was going to submit a feature request for support for shutter/polarised 3D glasses using side-by-side/top-bottom/line interleaved modes.

The research I've done suggests you can't as the available third party stereoscopic drivers only support Direct3D.
</comment>

                            <comment id="49125" author="the.modificator" created="Sat, 2 Mar 2013 18:57:42 +0100"  >
The anaglyph 3D effect works by visually duplicating and shifting every 3D game element to the left or right on the screen's 2D surface. Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaglyph_3D for details how it works. As the firework appears to be very far away, the shift is very large there. This makes it hard for the human eye to match the two firework images. The fact that the firework is pretty bright on a dark background like the night sky will make the problem even worse as the color filters of most glasses fail to give the viewer a correct 3D impression.

The problem you encounter is intrinsic to the anaglyph 3D filtering method and can therefore not be fixed in the game. (Workarounds like reducing the overall contrast when using the anaglyph thing might be possible but probably would make most other things worse.)
</comment>
                            <comment id="49102" author="league" created="Sat, 2 Mar 2013 17:22:59 +0100"  >
you may guess three times what I used to test this
plus. you're saying that everyone has to buy an expensive 3d glass just to make the fireworks look good? if everything looks fine with normal 3d glasses, (because I got those too) including mobs and other gameplay element. don't you think it's an ingame error that only the fireworks don't look good? btw Im not talking about the colors here, im talking about the fact that if I fire 1 firework I clearly see 2 fireworks with my 3d goggles
</comment>
                            <comment id="49065" author="the.modificator" created="Sat, 2 Mar 2013 15:51:41 +0100"  >
That's a limitation of the anaglyph 3D filtering method. The firework has too much contrasty on top of the dark sky to be filtered out by the anaglyph glasses. Therefore this is not a game bug but a real-world "physics" bug with your glasses.

If you want to have a better 3D effect, you'll have to buy "real" 3D glasses that use more advanced techniques like for example an active shutter 3D system (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shutter_glasses).

---> I'd call this a "Works As Intended" ticket.
</comment>
