<project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

I was walking in the Nether and taking screenshot of the light bugs (<del>MC-3329</del>) when I saw that was something strange with the lava. Then I understood that the lavafall flow stopped in the middle of the air.

                            <comment id="50642" author="nitwon" created="Thu, 7 Mar 2013 08:51:17 +0100"  >
So I guess my case stands. There is no lava bug here, only lighting bugs which are already being addressed.
</comment>
                            <comment id="50596" author="bugi74" created="Thu, 7 Mar 2013 02:15:18 +0100"  >
Ah, almost commented about that one earlier. But here goes:
Look more carefully where that "bad" lava fall starts and where the rightmost lava fall goes at the same level (their relative positions). Compare those positions where they are at the bottom. The same relative positions. Meaning they hit the bottom at the same level.

Also, compare the cross-section of that "bad" lava fall to the shape of its supposed shadow. They are different. The darker area that seems to be under that lava fall is actually closer to the player, and it is just so nicely at the same direction that it creates an illusion of being below the "bad" lava fall.

Let me attach an example screenshot showing an extreme case of these lighting bugs... There, 'nether-lighting-bugs.png'. Similar things, just larger, and no (un)suitable lava falls to mislead the poor human visual system.

Edit: while moving around that area, most of those glitches disappeared slowly, just like lighting glitches in the overworld.
</comment>
                            <comment id="50588" author="mistersanderson" created="Thu, 7 Mar 2013 01:06:56 +0100"  >
I added an editted version of your editted image to show you which lava flow I was referring to. It was not the righmost.
</comment>
                            <comment id="50402" author="nitwon" created="Wed, 6 Mar 2013 18:06:54 +0100"  >
Added the enhanced image to show that all lava streams are present and correct. The lighting bug made the right-most stream hard to see because it was too dark.
</comment>
                            <comment id="50349" author="mistersanderson" created="Wed, 6 Mar 2013 16:21:03 +0100"  >
Please, do that.
</comment>

                            <comment id="50142" author="mistersanderson" created="Tue, 5 Mar 2013 22:50:11 +0100"  >
Kevin, I reported that bug on lighting too, but the first three screenshots are showing the problem in the background. I was not showing the flow in forefront.
</comment>
                            <comment id="49959" author="nitwon" created="Tue, 5 Mar 2013 14:18:29 +0100"  >
I agree, there is nothing wrong with any of the lava flows in the screenshots. There is a lighting bug at the top of the lava stream in the first three screenshots which makes the lava hard to see (since it is dark).

Considering all the work that's currently being done on the lighting engine, I think this bug should maybe be closed...
</comment>

I didn't approached more to see if the flux would be fixed due to the existence of the lava sea.
</comment>
