As it would be a lot more useful if the compass points to your own spawn/bed then to the worldspawn.
</comment>

When you finished sleeping, throw your compass, then type /setworldspawn.
Save the world and then re-enter it. Receive back the compass and now it works.
</comment>

I have slept in my bed then died, and I popped right back up at my bed, yet the compass always points to your original spawn point, even though its not really your spawnpoint anymore. I wouldn't say yet that this is resolved, unless it is intended that the compass points at something that really isn't your spawnpoint. The spawnpoint is at the bed, so the compass should point to the bed, too, yet it doesn't. I would call this a rather annoying bug that pretty much ruins the point of a compass.
</comment>

I distinctly remember the compass resetting to the last bed you slept in, a.k.a. your moved spawn point. I may have been dreaming though, in which case, please ignore this.
