[MC-515] Chest glitch that lets them appear as if they are opened while they are not.

                <project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

This happens from time to time when playing SMP with a friend on my local minecraft server.

The chest seems to remain on the open state (regarding the animation) and closes once I rightclick it to view its inventory, so basically it's inverted. The issue doesn't seem to resolve itself after relogging, so it must be a server-side issue.

It usually happens after playing for a while, after frequently using a chest. Have been able to reproduce this for a few times, so I'll provide a screenshot whenever it happens again.

It's been happening on my server since I created it (1.5.1).

I noticed that it begins with the chest not opening when I right-click it, then it opens when I exit the GUI. It is inverted until I open and close it a few more times and it goes back to normal. When the inversion is occurring, the chest sounds don't play. The sounds play when the chest returns to normal.
</comment>

Although as I'm untidy by nature, I kinda like the ability to leave the odd chest open. Makes a place look lived-in and used. I can generate the problem reasonably reliably by quickly switching between opening and closing several different chests (all at or above eye level in my setup, in case that has a bearing on the issue). I think there may be a disconnect between the animation and the server sending the client the chest info.

Essentially I double clicked, the chest opened, closed (two animation triggers), then displayed the chest contents (one trigger). At which point the chest was now open when not browsing it, and closed while browsing it.
</comment>
