[MC-395] 1.4.2 Full Release Sounds Not Loading Properly

                <project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

Note: The version I was using was not 1.4.2pre, there was just no option for the full release at the time of this post.

Me and my friend recently updated to the full release 1.4.2 downloaded from the launcher. When we created a new world (redstone ready), the sounds for placing and mining blocks were gone. We could hear buttons placing and breaking but didn't test any further. After about 5 minutes all the sounds came back and everything was normal. Don't know if this is happening to everyone but it happened to both me and my friend.

New sounds are downloaded while in game and not while updating the game.
</comment>
                            <comment id="26039" author="rwisckol" created="Sat, 1 Dec 2012 07:19:09 +0100"  >
Yes, very much a concern. It appears a sound queue (or something) gets backed up (lagged) on a regular basis, then dumps out the backlogged sounds all at once. At times, I've cleared 20+ blocks in a soundless vacuum, then get a massive compressed bit of effects and it's all caught up for a bit.
</comment>

If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
</comment>

However, with 1.25+ in addition to pronounced lag I'm also experiencing a reverb effect where the same sound is repeated over and over. Quite annoying when you have a room full of villagers opening and closing doors all over the place
</comment>
