[MC-3736] Village spawned iron golem problem

                <project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

I have a village of aprox 25-35 villager, and 2 natural spawned iron golems. I killed 4 villager (because they get stucked with me in a hole and I cant dig out without attack them) and the golems start to kill me over and over. I kill them 2 times both, but when they naturally respawn, they continue their attack. They kill me a lot of times and the aggro continue. They should be calmed right now, but they are aggro permanentrly.

The reason is the village popularity. when you kill villagers, or hit them, you lose popularity and when a village detects that you have a popularity below -15, all natural Iron Golems attack. visit http://minecraft.wiki.com and type in Iron Golem or
Village
</comment>

"Presently, popularity has one effect: if a player has -15 popularity or less, iron golems of that village will become aggressive to that player."
</comment>
                            <comment id="40527" author="jdrews" created="Sun, 27 Jan 2013 23:19:22 +0100"  >
I fixed this by using NBTExplorer (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/840677-nbtexplorer-nbt-editor-for-windows-and-mac/) to reset my reputation in the village. Looks like it wasn't being reset after leaving for a while.

This can be done by going to your minecraft save folder and opening world/data/villages.dat in NBTExplorer. Then from there navigate to villages/players, find entry with your name and change "S: <some number>" to something greater than -15. At <=-15 the golems will keep on killing you.
</comment>

Long walks away from village and iron golems

Restarting server

Sleeping

Letting them kill me 30+ times

Traveling to nether

As much as I'd like to control golem aggro it is too random. Sometimes I can walk past the golem fine but I have been killing zombies and zombie villagers and the golems starts attacking me and not the zombies. The agro is not reset even after i die, or exit map.
</comment>
