<project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

A while back ladders were changed so that players can not climb up ladders with every other rung missing. this patch is causing collision bugs with trapdoors preventing players from passing through a floor divider because the game sees a ladder gap instead of a trapdoor please fix trapdoor blocks to allow players to properly climb through them

Or perhaps I misunderstand what I am seeing. Would someone be in a position to verify the "old" trapdoor behavior reported as a bug here is present in Bedrock, and then sort out how to report this bug in that bug tracker? I am hoping for Mojang to fix Bedrock to match the current Java behavior.
</comment>

As mentioned above, you can stand on top of ladders, so simply putting the trapdoor on the other side fixes that problem.
</comment>
                            <comment id="29569" author="rfrehv" created="Thu, 20 Dec 2012 05:06:22 +0100"  >
I agree this is annoying. I was about to create a ticket about this but luckly found one. The suggestion Joël Fivat gave is the one I want to see too.
</comment>
                            <comment id="27813" author="torabi" created="Tue, 11 Dec 2012 18:34:05 +0100"  >
That would be awesome. As a workaround in the meantime, I've found that attaching the hinge of the trapdoor on a different side than the ladder makes going up much easier, though it's still not perfect.
</comment>

                            <comment id="20927" author="jfivat" created="Mon, 12 Nov 2012 11:33:05 +0100"  >
If you want the trap door to be flush with the floor, the trap door takes the space of the last ladder, so you can't place the last ladder. This is not a problem if you place the trap door on the opposite side, that allows you to climb the ladder, stand on the top of the ladder, then jump to get out of the hole. I have lots of ladders+trap door, and it is working.

If you need to have the ladder to continue up after the trapdoor, I agree this is a problem. In that case either don't place a trapdoor or put the next ladder on the side. Anyway I don't really see how they could change this. Maybe make an open trapdoor act as a ladder when it is open and in a 1 block hole ?
</comment>
