[MC-2711] Jukebox crashes when breaking with no record inside

                <project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

I was playing around with jukeboxes on 1.4.4, and my game crashed. I put a music disc in one jukebox, to build with the sound on, and then destroyed a jukebox about 2 blocks away from it. I popped the music disc out of the one in use and my game crashed. Has happened twice. Crash logs attached. Reproducible? Also, my world isn't corrupted. (I used the same world both times it crashed.) !!!!!EDIT!!!!! I think this happened because Minecraft lost too much memory trying to allocate me destroying music boxes wit discs in them. I recreated, and first thing I did was put music discs in over 5 jukeboxes. Then, I destroyed 3 in a row and on the third the disc item glitched it's place and I crashed.

Reading through the comments, lots of people say the bug is "fixed" and even one person asks if that means that the chunk and the house came back, but a Mod replies that it just meant "it just won't happen in the future." If there's a way to get the chunk to revert back to pre-regeneration, please post it in the comments.
</comment>

EDIT:
Tested, the original bug was fixed, but a new one came up: the first jukebox you place disappears right in front of your eyes. That's what I did: 1) create a world, 2) In creative, pick a jukebox and a disc, 3) switch to survival, 4) place the jukebox — it disappears in the next tic., 5) switch back to creative and pick a new jukebox, 6) place it, it remains.
</comment>

leave world and enter again

        After again login, 3/4 area of chunk is fully reset to all plain stone with top soil and air from level-up
I check with minutor, the chunk appears to be saved ok but is destroyed on read-in at MC startup
Same behavior when walking away and coming back to chunk (it probably happens after chunk is written&reloaded)
5/1/13 crash reps

It did corrupt the chunks. But it took way more than 3 jukeboxes. I had to be in creative mode and destroyed like 15 in a row. Oh, none of the juke boxes had CD's in them too btw.

At first It crashed me with 3. But no one else on the chunk. I then realized that my personal java wasn't updated. So, I updated java to 1.7 v10 (both 32 and 64). Then I went back in and destroyed a bunch in a row. This time it corrupted the chunk. No one could get near that chunk or spawn in the chunk.

my server has 8gigs of ram but my processor sucks 2.0 quad. So since it drains the memory, maybe I had to kill a bunch to reproduce compared to others who may have less ram. BTW my server java is 1.7 v10. (we updated because of these forums).

To be fair I know this is a vanilla MC bug. I did reproduce this on MC server with about 7 plugins running. I'm letting you know this because it does make a difference. However, this bug is a big one as it will literally corrupt the chunk.

I guess I can test it on single player too. But I allocate a ton of ram to my MC as well.

Ill get back
