[MC-1404] Crafted Map (item) fills itself in when created. Does not center on player. (player was near the edge of mapped zone) Goes blank after being placed in a chest.

                <project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

Put the summary of the bug you're having here

What I expected to happen was...:
I would start in the center of the map and it would be filled in as I explored

What actually happened was...:
The map completely filled in from left to right and showed I was on the edge of the map. (I think it just loaded the chunk I was in)
Maps put in a chest and retrieved later are blank but still show player position and movement but do not fill in with terrain.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create map using compass and paper
2. Hold map in hand
3. Right click with map in hand.

It doesn't happen every time - I believe it may have been caused by not letting the map populate the first time I looked at it. I have a working example of a failed map in 1.5.2 if you'd like to contact me for details.
</comment>

Maps are no longer centered on the player when created, instead, they're now aligned to a grid, to allow for tiling of multiple maps.
</comment>
