I think I put the item in while in creative mode, then switched to survival to break it. When the items dropped, I saw two of each in my inventory (because the first two hadn&apos;t been removed) and mistakenly thought it was a dupe. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I just tried again and realized this, so this may not actually be confirmed, unless the OP had some different situation in mind.&lt;/p&gt;</comment>

It does seem that when breaking a frame, you receive 2 of the frame, and 2 of the item inside, but your sword stays the same.&lt;/p&gt;</comment>
