[MC-1159] Mouse wrongly positioned in fullscreen

                <project id="10400" key="MC">Minecraft: Java Edition</project>

When opening an interface (eg crafting menu) while the game is in fullscreen, the mouse is not placed at the center of the screen, but rather in the bottom left quadrant of the screen.

What I expected to happen was...:
Opening an interface and the mouse being in the center of the screen.

What actually happened was...:
The mouse was in the bottom left quadrant of the screen

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open any game in minecraft and put the game in fullscreen (either through menu option or F11)
2. Open an interface, such as inventory, but don't move the mouse
3. Notice mouse is not centered.

The proposition of changing said behaviour, regardless of the change, diverging from the original and apparent intended behaviour is considered that of a feature request, which is why I recommend putting it on the forums. I am not stating that this proposed fix is wrong/invalid, but rather this may not be the best place to bring attention to it.
</comment>
                            <comment id="50510" author="jonathan2520" created="Wed, 6 Mar 2013 22:32:39 +0100"  >
Hey, wow. Apparently LWJGL has had all the plumbing in place for a few years. Apply Uku's fix right nao!

CubeTheThird: I think this is a bug for practical purposes. Its supposed status as feature of some sort is contested, at least.
</comment>

Please just remove the centering feature and let it remember the position. It's very frustrating. On my own computer I always run a personal mod that removes the line "Mouse.setCursorPosition(...)" from MouseHelper.ungrabMouseCursor(). Actual production code would likely need some additional checks if the window size changes, but shouldn't be too complicated.
</comment>

It appears into the 1st slot of the hotbar. Also all minecraft would have to do is recenter the pointer. This it what happens in the web version (it also causes that flickering mouse thing in the web version (maybe if it only recentered after fullscreening)) also I fail to see how this could REALLY effect how you play minecraft. Also remembering where the mouse was would be nice
</comment>

Fullscreen just uses the would-be center of the last window size, which is fortunately pretty close if you maximized the window before going fullscreen.

Wouldn't it be nice if Minecraft remembered the last pointer position? When doing a lot of inventory work it feels pretty awkward to have it reset to the same place every time, even if that place is the center. Better to place it where it was when I last closed an inventory (or menu or the like), I'd say. If I leave the pointer somewhere, I want it to stay there as in any other application.
</comment>

When playing MC in a window, the mouse cursor defaults to the centre.

When playing MC fullscreen, the size of the window in windowed mode is used to determine where the cursor is placed.

So if you make your MC window really small, then switch to fullscreen and open your inventory, the cursor will be right down the bottom left.
If you then go back to windowed, make the window almost fit the screen, switch back and open inventory, the cursor will almost be in the correct place.
</comment>
