The painting vanishes without giving anything about when my hand pulls back from placing it. You can place multiple paintings in the same block, and upon breaking the block (you can't break the paintings) they all appear as items on the ground.
</comment>

I already know that you can connect to 1.5 servers, but what does that have to do with anything? I placed it in 1.5.1 SP, not MP.
</comment>

Also, pretty sure that you can log in to a 1.5 server from 1.5.1 and vice versa.
</comment>

@Workday Lobster: <del>Were those paintings placed with a version < 13w11a ? Are you playing on a 1.5.0 server pretending to be a 1.5.1 server ? Anyway, please attach screenshots with the debug screen (F3) enabled.</del>
Ok, thanks for the update.
</comment>

I don't even understand how that can happen, which makes me think they're secretly modding or something. That's probably the cause in my case. Sorry!
</comment>

nothing has changed since yesterday. Should I start a new issue - but if I
tried, you would just mark it as a duplicate. I followed the rules and
looked to see if others had this issue, in order not to start a new
complaint. Perhaps I should report a bug with the reporting system, which
is reporting as fixed issues which are not fixed?

To test the bug I went into Creative and spammed a painting on that spot to see what would happen. A painting appeared to be placed for a split second then disappeared. Later on when I was walking back through that area I noticed about 30 painting in that spot. I pulled them off the wall and tried placing them again, only to see the flicker again, though they haven't shown up yet like the previous time.
</comment>

On SP, they disappear, but they exist, and to see them you just need to relog.
</comment>

EDIT: I'm actually not quite sure if there has ever been a painting at this position, but it looks wrong without one.
EDIT2: There indeed used to be a painting and it just reappeared again.
</comment>

F3+A (reload chunks) and F3+T (reload texture packs) aren't effective to show the invisible paintings. F3+B shows no visible hitboxes for invisible paintings.
</comment>
