<comment id="113101" author="_droidfreak_" created="Sun, 20 Oct 2013 18:27:56 +0200"  >
In my experience you do get the item back - tested inadvertently on stone slabs when I was using my efficiency-sharpness-unbreaking battle axe and I was fighting someone in their house. My axe tore up the stone slabs at an incredible rate and I picked up quite a few of them. Certainly deserves to be fixed, although frankly it's kinda fun to run around breaking stone slabs with an axe.

Update: Never mind, tested in vanilla 1.6.2 and 1.6.4 and didn't get the items back. Must have been inadvertently patched by one of the mods in my mod pack. Creeper collateral maybe? Anyways, we certainly deserve to get the items back if the axes can quickly break them. So what Derek said. And now this makes me curious if breaking any block without tools in my mod pack drops the item... brb testing.

Update-ception: Nope, just axes on stone slabs. Uber-wierd. Could be a clue as to where the bug resides in the code.
</comment>
                            <comment id="112979" author="dylanthalus" created="Sun, 20 Oct 2013 08:41:19 +0200"  >
I genuinely do not mean any offense but <del>MC-11271</del> is a much better description of the problem that I was here to look for and/or report. Yet, that report is indicated as a duplicate of this report and this report doesn't seem to reflect the actual problem as I experienced it. That is that stone slabs are not returned after being broken by an axe. Also important, but also missing from this report, is that efficiency on the axe exacerbates the problem. This creates a significant problem when tree farming an area that has stone slabs floors or walls. It would be especially great to see this problem resolved for 1.7 as I have frequently lost blocks due to a poorly executed axe chop while using efficiency axes. If a block is broken quickly, it should return the block. If an efficiency tool can destroy a block in one hit, it should return the block. If the axe is made to not destroy slabs in one hit, that's great but any efficiency tool that is capable of destroying a block quickly should ensure the block is returned.
</comment>
