[BDS-9966] Unable to connect to 1.16.100 Bedrock server after update from 1.16.40

                <project id="11700" key="BDS">Bedrock Dedicated Server</project>

After updating my privately hosted bedrock server from 1.16.40 to 1.16.100 I am only able to connect on my local network using the machines local IPv4 address. I am unable to connect using my public IPv4 address and other users are also unable to connect to the world. When updating the server I copied the worlds folder, server.properties, whitelist, and permissions files to the folder with the unzipped 1.16.100 release. I have double checked my port forwarding settings and even tried using different ports(changing the server properties file as needed to match my forwarded ports) but it was working right before updating the server and nothing was changed so that shouldn't have been an issue regardless. When starting the server I noticed the 1.16.100 log does not show the date and time for the server starting like it did in 1.16.40.

Just wanted to let all know, that the cause of my issue, is the resource pack (texture pack pureBDcraft). Once i removed it, i can play again without CTD.
</comment>
                            <comment id="849916" author="JIRAUSER572723" created="Thu, 26 Nov 2020 10:48:38 +0100"  >
To the Mod- The ports were the same but I also tried other ports in a lower range incase my ISP had blocked some ports or some nonsense like that. I also tried a new world (all freshly downloaded files from mojang) with the same issue, connection on LAN only not WAN. The BDS 1.16.101 Update seems to have fixed the issue and WAN connection is working now on original ports with the original world files as well, it was an issue with the BDS 1.16.100 update it seems. I was not sure how to close my bug report but the new update seems kind of unstable as well still. Clicking in the sever dialog window made players unable to connect and warranted a restart, I can start a new ticket for that if necessary. The other issue/flag I had in the original ticket was the date and time was not showing up after server start and the world was opened which is still occurring with the 1.16.101 update, I have seen other tickets for that issue but I am curious if you know whether it was an intentional change or a bug.

Regards

Yours is a seperate issue. The OP reports that the server is available on LAN but not WAN. That is entirely different from not being able to connect at all. I would suggest getting in contact with the community support (linked below) who may be able to help with your client problem.

In regards to the OP's issue, the game does not differentiate between a connection from a device on the LAN or WAN there is very little from a bug perspective that could cause this. Which is why I was asking for more information.

Are you able to connect if you start a brand new server without your world file on those ports?

I've upgraded my own servers and am not seeing this issue so its likely a config issue or one specific to the way you have setup your servers. To be clear I'm not saying its not a bug, just that its not reproducible on a vanilla BDS install.
</comment>

I'm able to connect with 3 of my devices- Windows 10 version, Android and iPhone. However when trying to connect with anything but my own devices on my home network, it fails to connect - not even showing any error on my end. It was running correctly before the update and I triple checked over my port forwarding settings to see if there was any issue and saw none.
</comment>
