[BDS-9893] Unable to start bedrock server on version 1.16.100.04

                <project id="11700" key="BDS">Bedrock Dedicated Server</project>

Greetings,

we host multiple MC Bedrock servers across multiple physical machines. The machines are running Windows Server 2019.

After upgrading from 1.16.40.02 to 1.16.100.04 on these bedrock servers, we are seeing that none of them are able to start correctly. Even after a clean wipe. They are simply hanging on "Server Started", and is not connectable.

Any suggestions?

The console will close gracefully, upon STOP command is issued. But no players are able to connect until BDS console is restarted. I submitted a bug on this, and looked through the error reports, and someone has the same problem as me on Ubuntu. So... yea. Something is wrong with BDS. I've been running my server for over a year and never experienced anything like this. It happens without rhyme or reason. Windows event logs show nothing wrong, because no application errors have occurred.
</comment>
                            <comment id="843075" author="ionicecko" created="Wed, 18 Nov 2020 12:00:06 +0100"  >
Unfortunately there isn't enough information here to reproduce your issue. I'm not able to reproduce it using just the vanilla BDS files.

A couple of possible causes though:

Are you using the vanilla BDS files or a custom compile, if using a custom compile you will need to confirm if it works with the official software and log with the creator if it doesn't

We see many players come in reporting issues when upgrading from one version to the next. In all cases this is due to players not updating their BDS properly. For reference you need to unzip the new files and move the worlds folder, server.properties, permissions.json and whitelist.json into the new folder. Copying the new files over the old ones is a recipe for disaster.
