It was fix we d in the latest release. Months later, but it was fixed. It would be nice if they offered to downgrade or run different versions like on the pc launcher. |

People v12.1 was released. Tested successfully in iPod and iPad. |

@SammyGarza111: stop. If you read the above comments by other users, you will see that iOS 5 is the highest supported version available for the iPad 1. It does not allow them to update to a newer release. |
| Comment by Sammy Garza [ 12/Aug/15 ] |
|
Well I am on 8.4 and it isn't hard to update iOS... |
| Comment by Adam Last Rizzoli [ 12/Aug/15 ] |
|
Yes, but many kids play on iOS 5.1.1. |
| Comment by Sammy Garza [ 12/Aug/15 ] |
|
Anyways I think iOS 5.1.1 should not be supported anymore since it's too outdated now. |
| Comment by Sammy Garza [ 12/Aug/15 ] |
|
Yea but it's the most reliable thing. If you press on the bug fix name it will send you to the bug report on this website. |
| Comment by Katten [ 12/Aug/15 ] |
|
Though official, the Minecraft Wiki is made by community members. It won't always be reliable. |
| Comment by Sammy Garza [ 12/Aug/15 ] |
|
Because in the minecraft wiki made by mojang says fix crashes on start up on worlds. |
| Comment by Adam Last Rizzoli [ 12/Aug/15 ] |

Apple has unsupported the ipad 1st gen. And how do you know that the problems on the ipad will be fixed in 0.12.1. Mojang hasn't announced it. |
| Comment by Sammy Garza [ 11/Aug/15 ] |
|
I didn't say you HAD to! I ment for example but this bug is fix for the 0.12.1 update. |
| Comment by Adam Last Rizzoli [ 11/Aug/15 ] |
|
Sammy Garza, YOU CANNOT UPDATE 1ST GEN IPADS TO IOS 7! |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 11/Aug/15 ] |
|
You cannot update past IOS 5 on iPad 1 devices. |
| Comment by Sammy Garza [ 10/Aug/15 ] |
|
Maybe you should update your iOS because mojang may make the game only available for iOS 7 and up. Btw they did fix the bug but the fix is 0.12.1 |
| Comment by Adam Last Rizzoli [ 10/Aug/15 ] |
|
I just don't get why Mojang does not spend that much time into fixing the horrible freezes and crashes on ios 5.1.1. They have the time. They have worked on PE for months to get 0.8.0 out. and yet it takes under two months to beta test 0.12.1. Which have about the same content increase. |

I tried with a cracked version and it works now |

@wtjoker: see this comment by shoghicp. Note that the project's workflow doesn't usually have Mojang update a report's status - that is our (the moderators) job ATM. @Theitalianplumber: these responses are copied and pasted whenever we resolve a report, and are entirely neutral as to encompass both new and experienced members. We simply do this too much to write a unique comment for every resolution. |

Too bad Mojang doesnt spend as much time fixing this ad the moderators do checking this site |

I too have the same problem. It works fine on my iPhone 5 but not the iPad. Message for the moderator, I did 'remember to search' I just didn't know what someone else had called their thread, so no need to be sarcastic. |

For some reason I CAN NOT comfirm this on iOS 5 I had not problem with it. |

This was on twitter from one of the developers, so that probably means that anything else like our issue isnt really a priority and all the focus will be to get Windows 10 PE version out, Tommaso Checchi @_tomcc Jul 4 Our only hope is that the 0.12 release for Windows 10 will include an IOS 5 fix! |

I'm having the same problem when updated mine craft to v 0.11.1 in iPad 1 v 5.1.1 AND iPod iOS v 6.1.6, with wifi / airplane mode turned on and off. Both presents Mojang screen, and after some seconds come back to default screen. When double click main button, I can seen the mine craft icon, as running application. However, if I click on it, it happens again the Mojang screen for some seconds, and over again. Delete and and reinstall helps ? |

I do not have a previous backup of the app on my pc, is there any other way to revert to older backup without a local backup? |

Both my boys have now lost both of their worlds, but I was able to get back to running on an earlier version of the application (finally). As we are planning a long famliy drive I wanted to try and get it at least "playable" for them. As a parent, I am not impressed that Mojang has done nothing to address this issue. |

I tweeted Mojang support and got no help. Me: Why isnt Mojang assisting or responding with bugs with MSPE not working IOS 5 I also tweeted the Minecraft employees on their page feed https://mojang.com/ so they know there is an issue, now its their call to rectify it. |

Mojang, can we get a comment on the status of this, if you don't care or don't want to bother with this bug at least have the decency and courtesy to tell us so we can let our 4year old sons know it will never be fixed and try and stop them crying! |

iTunes issued me a iTunes store credit for the purchase price of Minecraft PE today after I contacted them about being unable to play the paid app for weeks now with no official recognition of a problem from Mojang. They also said they would "investigate" the compatibility issue on Apple's side. |

Who is the assignee michaela? Thanks! |

Mojang, how hard is it to acknowledge this bug and offer a rollback? I have posted feedback on this into the itunes store. DO NOT UPGRADE if you want to play this app on IOS5! |

The Assignee is on FB; if anyone is bold enough to give him a heads-up in acknowledging us. That's all we want - some feedback..... |

I have a version 1 iPAD and even if I disable the WIFI does not work. Anyway, this is not really a good solution either (considering that it would work) because then the kids can not share their worlds without a wifi connection. Unfortunately the work around of disabling wifi is not an option. |
| Comment by Gianluca santini [ 19/Jun/15 ] |
|
Thank you for suggestion but it isn't a solution. Are you going to fix? |
| Comment by Steve Holloway [ 19/Jun/15 ] |

On a first gen iPad, IOS 5.1.1, if you disable the wireless connection on the iPad, the game launches and you can play it. However, with the network disabled, P2P and connections to external servers won't work. |

Any updates on this bug? |
| Comment by Ger Maguire [ 17/Jun/15 ] |

Same issue, ipad first gen ios 5.1.1 crashes when wifi is enabled but works when wifi is disabled. Is there any update on indentifying the cause of the bug or a fix? |
| Comment by Gianluca santini [ 17/Jun/15 ] |

Same problem. Ipad (the first gen.) ios 5.1.1 I update to verson 0.11.1 and the game do not start. Show the mojang logo and then crash. The previuos versuon worked fine. |

I'm a software developer too, and I would like to remember you, that you have a RESPONSIBILITY for your work. You know the thing with the software CRAFTMANSHIP. And as some of my honest previous speaker mentioned, you made thousands of CHILDREN sad and ... maybe .. to cry. I've done the only thing I'm able to do at this moment: As you've requested, I've added a pastbin : http://pastebin.com/xmUKHCff |
| Comment by Greg Bain [ 14/Jun/15 ] |
|
It may be outdated, however...the Apple Store specifically has functions for quality control which this seems to have bypassed. Mojang needs to inform Apple that users with IOS 5.1.1 can only use the LAST version...not the current version. Otherwise every user with an older device is screwed. I have a son that is DEVASTATED by this, and is freaking out because the world he has been working on seems to be lost...at the very least he can't work on it. |

0.11.1 crashes upon load using my son's iPad 1. It works fine if you disable WiFi, but there are obvious limitations to this solution. There are many parents like myself who've given old iPads to their kids so they play games like Minecraft PE. It's fair enough if you want to version out of old hardware and iOS versions, but please make your customers know about this in advance, before they update to an unusable version. You should also provide a downgrade. There are thousands of children in the world whining and crying right now because your update doesn't work on 4 year old iOS platforms. Please let us know if or when we can expect a fix. |

I think you're iPad may be outdated and too slow to start up the game fast enough, especially from the line in the report, "com.mojang.minecraftpe failed to launch in time" |

|
It happens the same with me. It has been after an update this week. I am using a iPAD1. |
