I want a skin and it says this is not a minecraft skin silly!

Comment by John Minecraft [ 21/Nov/15 ]

Just started working. Using the same skin.

Comment by rplatham [ 20/Nov/15 ]

craftyminer is it working on the recently released 0.13.0 or did you do something different to the skin?

Comment by John Minecraft [ 19/Nov/15 ]

It's working now! πŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ˜‹At least,... for me.

Comment by rplatham [ 02/Nov/15 ]

Can you compare the properties or details of the two skin files? Is it possible that Apple is changing the files in some way when you transferred the skin between the devices? I mention this because when I upload a skin to dropbox and bring it back to the same device, dropbox changes the file in a way that means it will no longer load as a skin in MCPE. (I've done this on Android and Win10 but not iOS).

Comment by John Minecraft [ 16/Oct/15 ]

Yes. Yes you can..

Comment by [Mojang] MissMarzenia (Aleksandra Zajac) [ 16/Oct/15 ]

Can you reproduce in 12.2?

Comment by Rebecca fisher [ 10/Oct/15 ]

I really want to change my skin

Comment by John Minecraft [ 16/Sep/15 ]

How to reproduce:
1) Use an iPod touch Gen4 running iOS 6.1.6.
2) Launch Minecraft PE and go to options
3) Tap skins and tap Custom
4) Find a skin such as https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3cmOuzSKnG-ZDNPaDdCMzRVOFE/view.
5) Accept the preview
6) Weep as it says it isn't a skin.

Please fix.

Comment by [Mojang] MissMarzenia (Aleksandra Zajac) [ 16/Sep/15 ]

What are the exact steps to reproduce?

Comment by SammyGarza [ 16/Sep/15 ]

Comment by Alex Richardson [ 16/Sep/15 ]

Comment by Nguyen Van Hieu [ 26/Aug/15 ]

Im know how to solve it you just name your skin custom.png and put it in Minecraft Pe/Document/games/com.mojang/minecraftpe

Comment by Sammy Garza [ 12/Aug/15 ]

Comfirm on iPhone 5 and iPad 4

Comment by Sammy Garza [ 16/Jul/15 ]

For iOS 8.4 is affected by this too!

Comment by Daniel F Abbott [ 22/Jun/15 ]

Concerning this bug on ios 6.1.6 devises (iPod 4th gen), not being able to change skins. I found that its only minecraft pe that has the problem recognizing the skins, for I have 2 skin edit apps, skinseed, an skin editor: minecraft edition, for if I would pull the skin off one of this apps by exporting it to my photo library. It recognizes it as a skin.. Same goes to the skin I get off of real websites.. Both of this apps can recognize the skin as a skin.. So is there a way to put the same coding of some sort into mcpe, or will that mess with somthing else completely, in the game..

Comment by Christian Angel Zhang Coleman [ 17/Jun/15 ]

I have the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is clearly a skin but i guess they never tested iPod 4th generation.

Comment by Jacob Marshall [ 13/Jun/15 ]

im having same issue. it works on my phone but not on my ipod. thank god mojang have this bug tracker. i'll be giving my support so hopefully this will be fixed!

Comment by Whyshould Itellyoumyname [ 08/Jun/15 ]

A mod has tested this issue and confirmed that it is real, rather than someone trying to spam or something like that.

Comment by Alex Richardson [ 08/Jun/15 ]

What doesit mean when a mod goes Confirmed on iPod 4 (iOS 6)

Comment by Whyshould Itellyoumyname [ 07/Jun/15 ]

I meant that Mojang should program into the game a folder where the player's skin will go, and then allow file transfer with that folder.

Comment by Whyshould Itellyoumyname [ 06/Jun/15 ]

Oh, wait, I just realized file transfer already exists... well, add a new folder where a skin file will go, then allow users to transfer a skin to that folder.

Comment by Whyshould Itellyoumyname [ 06/Jun/15 ]

Hey, Mojang, I just thought of an idea that might possibly help: some apps allow you to transfer files to and from them with a computer (such as file manager apps, as well as some others). What if you allowed people to transfer files to MCPE from iTunes on their computer? If the issue is what I said above, this may work, I'm not really sure.

Comment by AMAN4700 [ 06/Jun/15 ]

Confirmed on iPod 4 (iOS 6)

Comment by Whyshould Itellyoumyname [ 05/Jun/15 ]

I also have this problem. I've seen other people mention it, too (on Youtube).

I've been examining this problem very closely, and I think I know what the cause is: whenever I save a skin picture to my iPod, there's blank space, right? Well, in the blank space I can see the last picture I deleted from my iPod! If I save another one, I can see the picture before that that I deleted. I'm planning on testing soon to see if filling my iPod with enough pictures will solve this, as all pictures I deleted will be replaced. In any case, this will be ridiculous for people to do just to make a custom skin, so I would like to suggest you find a way to solve this.
