| Description |
|
My son has purchased Minecraft Pocket Edition and has been using it on an original Apple iPad running iOS 5.1.1 (as this is the highest iOS that you can run on this device). iPad is NOT jailbroken and never has been. Minecraft Pocket Edition version 0.10.4 has been working well on this device (with one exception: Infinite Worlds mode would crash out to the main menu). It did not freeze. However the new update version 0.11.1 is extremely crash prone: it freezes frequently. (Note that the version number shown in the Apple App Store is 0.11.1 but the JIRA Create Issue form does not have that version listed so 0.11.0 is the closest I could enter). My son wrote the following list of problems: It lets me on for a minute then everything freezes, have to click the home button to get out. Will you please fix this freezing problem? Edit by Illidicia: Edit by MissMarzenia 09 SEPTEMBER 2015: JOY! It looks like 0.12.1 resolved this issue. Please comment if you are still experiencing it on your device. |

Fellows I should have recorded the tension during the update process and the happiness of my two girls (8 and 4) after the game came to live again, with the old worlds, enjoying the new features. Long days of darkness, but welcome sun again! |

Tested and working well: v12.1 on OS5.1.1. Thanks, team! |

This is not a forum, it is a tool to report bugs, this bug was reported, commented on and updated accordingly. We do not have any NEW information on this bug and I will update as soon as we do. Commenting on this issue at the moment will not change the result of the recent submission. Please Wait for the new update to be available in App Store. |

I read the 8th it would be available, why was my comment deleted? It isn't available today. |

wresnick I have already update on this issue on August 28th. Please read, before commenting. |

So now that the 0.12.1 version is officially released to apple, can someone let all of us know if this issue has been resolved. |

This has happened a lot on my iPad (1st gen) too. I work around this by turning off Wi-Fi or turning on Airplane Mode. Thanks for the news. I'm looking forward to the next update, where hopefully, IT DOESN'T FREEZE EVERY SINGLE DARN TIME WHEN WI-FI IS ON. |
| Comment by Terrence McAuliffe [ 28/Aug/15 ] |

In my particular case the IPAD-1 is being used by a younger person learning Minecraft. On the other hand, he mutters under his breath that he wants to share a world with his 8-year old sister who has an IPAD-2. |

We have been aware of this issue since release but due to a lack of resolution we have not been updating frequently. |

In the same boat. We have four kids who all love to play Minecraft together. Now one of them is stuck not being able to play with the others because they have an older iPad. MCPE run fine on his iPad with Wifi off, but then they can't play with anyone else, which defeats the purpose. Any plans on a patch or fix to the issue? It's been almost 3 months now, that's a quarter YEAR. Still no fix or plans of one? If crash reports aren't particularly useful, maybe someone on the team should spring for a 1st gen iPad for the developers to have in-house, so they could test this stuff themselves? |
| Comment by Bob Newhart [ 28/Aug/15 ] |
|
My kids wish to play over local WiFi. they do not connect to servers. This also cannot be done while in airplane mode or with WiFi off. Obviously. |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 28/Aug/15 ] |
|
Everyone needs to submit for a refund/credit to Itunes and they will process it. I would also leave negative feedback on the app in the itunes store. |

Minecon is over. Where is the fix? |

I can't believe Apple is letting you guys get away with continuing to sell this to Ipad 1 devices in the AppStore...you clearly have no intent of fixing this bug, it's been 2 months without a fix...what a joke |
| Comment by Terry gamble [ 22/Aug/15 ] |
|
It would be great for this to be resolved as my kids use the iPad just for minecraft and play with a number of friends .I kinda feel cheated out of my money since the networking of minecraft is a large part of the fun in our family and frenids . |
| Comment by Steve Martin [ 15/Aug/15 ] |
|
Yep same problem here. We updated Minecraft Pocket Edition recently and it no longer works on iPad 1. Again, we can get it to work if we turn off the WiFi (or put it into Airplane mode) but multiplay is a massive part of Minecraft these days and my two boys - who play it constantly - are no longer able to connect up. Please Please Please fix this Mojang. |

Same issue here. Would love a way to downgrade to the previous version on ipads. |

We are disappointed. I'm sitting here with my two kids eager to work collaboratively in a shared world. Worked before update. Thanks for nuthin. Making an older version or a fix available somehow, would certainly be appreciated... Point release people. Please. 😤 |
| Comment by Isabel Folco [ 11/Aug/15 ] |
|
My son loves minecraft and he is very happy that the NO WIFI mode "solves" the problem. But yes, please think about creating 2 versions… I know it's not good for Apple but really... |
| Comment by Adam Last Rizzoli [ 10/Aug/15 ] |
|
The bug is that 1st gen ipads freeze with the internet on. That is it. For most people turning on airplane mode fixes it. And people that are saying that they need (and want) to downgrade so that they play on servers, almost all servers do not support versions before 0.11.1 so if you downgrade it will not work for servers. And do not post crash reports here. This issue is for the freezing of the ipad 1. Steps to reproduce, 1. Turn off airplane mode on 1st gen ipad. 2. Start Minecraft PE. 3. Wait. |
| Comment by Terrence McAuliffe [ 05/Aug/15 ] |
|
I'd like to suggest that the developer offer an older version of Minecraft PE on the Appstore for those who have older iPads. I've seen this done for the "NEXTISSUE" application and some others. I appreciated being able to continue with the original functionality while newer iPads could get improved functionality. |

@[Mojang] Shoghi Cervantes Device: iPad 1 (model MB292LL), iOS 5.1.1 (9B206) Crash report says: Application Specific Information: com.mojang.minecraftpe failed to launch in time Elapsed total CPU time (seconds): 19.540 (user 19.540, system 0.000), 97% CPU If I was a mobile developer (I am), my first guess would be that the iPad 1 is too slow to run everything that MCPE tries to run on start, and iOS decides it's taking too long (after 20s) and kills the app before it has a chance to show the first screen (after the LaunchImage). |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 05/Aug/15 ] |
|
I don't believe there is any effort in fixing this. It really is quite simple. With airplane mode ON (not just wifi disabled) you can make the game work. Turn it OFF and it freezes. I have duplicated this on 3 different devices, factor reset and erased Ipad1 with NO other applications installed. Either acknowledge you aren't going to fix it or fix it. |
| Comment by Octoxp [ 05/Aug/15 ] |
|
Dear Shoghi, I'm using iPad 1 v 5.1.1 AND iPod iOS v 6.1.6 in Brazil, and turn wifi or airplane on/off, even rebooting in these situations, does not works. Maybe, there is some country configuration dependance. |
| Comment by Margareta Knauff [ 05/Aug/15 ] |
|
Shogi Cervantes - game locks up shortly after launching if wifi is enabled on 1st gen iPad - I am having trouble seeing how it could be quality of signal. We have a really strong signal in the house, and the tablet is usually used in the same room where the wireless router is located - the tablet should be blazing. The problem with disabling wifi or using airplane mode is with multiplayer. Before the update the kids could play in multiplayer mode with the wifi connection - no problem whatsoever, no game crashing. Although the game works with wifi disabled, the kids can no longer play multiplayer, and that is pretty disappointing to them. |
| Comment by Karl Leaning [ 04/Aug/15 ] |
|
100% lockup if Wifi network enabled. Game works if the iPad either has WiFi disabled, or is in Airplane mode. Signal strength of the WiFi network makes no difference, any connection to WiFi causes the game to lockup |
| Comment by [Mojang] Shoghi Cervantes [ 04/Aug/15 ] |
|
We are aware of this since release, but the causes are unknown and the information shown in crashes is not really useful |
| Comment by Bob Newhart [ 03/Aug/15 ] |
|
iPad is as up to date as possible. It is listed as supported by software (Minecraft) that I bought and paid for. My due diligence is complete. Under no circumstances should I have to buy a new device to compensate for a developers short comings. |

You can't update the ios on original ipads past 5.1 |
| Comment by nick [ 03/Aug/15 ] |
|
You should try to update the ipad or try getting it on another device because ios 5.1.1 is pretty old |

Restart the iPad while in airplane mode it will work just tap cancel when it complains "settings or cancel" dialog box |

Airplane mode didn't work out for my kids iPad and iPod. Both still crashe. |
| Comment by Bob Newhart [ 29/Jul/15 ] |
|
Beta 0.12 is out very soon (not for iOS) but I'm sure the entire focus was on Windows 10. If they haven't even marked this issue as in progress I don't think we should expect a resolution. I have a Touchpad with CM installed. And fortunately (for my kids) I purchased Minecraft for 360 as well as PC because they enjoy it so much. This was all before this issue of course. |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 29/Jul/15 ] |
|
Yup. In fact I rooted 2 old Kindles so they could play together. 35 bux at the pawn shop lol |
| Comment by Bob Newhart [ 29/Jul/15 ] |
|
Agreed. My daughters have been playing in Airplane mode since beginning of July when I mistakenly updated the game version for them. But they had always played together previously so they lose interest in it and wonder themselves when it would be fixed. I am a software developer myself so this boggles my mind. I don't intend to support Mojang with future purchases after this. |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 29/Jul/15 ] |
|
It works in single player buy not multiplayer, so I know they could fix ir. Very dissapointed |
| Comment by Bob Newhart [ 29/Jul/15 ] |
|
Are they trying to artificially phase out old iOS support? I really don't want a refund. My daughters want to be able to play the game that I paid for and worked previously. In fact I'll give another $7 to fix the thing. They obviously need it more than I do. These companies are underhanded and greedy and don't care about their customers if it isn't costing them large amounts of money. Minecraft is already fragmented across platforms to be honest so just roll back the compatible version for iOS 5 to 0.10.x. And folks in the industry wonder why piracy is such a problem. |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 29/Jul/15 ] |
|
Unfortunately it isn't going to be acknowledged much less fixed. Ask for a refund through iTunes and leave negative feedback. |
| Comment by Bob Newhart [ 29/Jul/15 ] |
|
Why is this not fixed let alone even acknowledged yet? It has been two months. This is unacceptable as a paying customer. I intend to make my complaints to a higher level. |
| Comment by Paul Gagnon [ 25/Jul/15 ] |
|
Hello, I've been watching and waiting for a bug fix patiently... I was remaining silent thinking it would be fixed soon. But it's not. Just wanted finally to add an extra voice and say that I am in the same situation. Bought minecraft 0.11.1 for my boy, it was supposed to work on his ipad first generation running ios 5.1.1. As you all know, it doesn't and just freezes on the splash screen. I hope Mojang will fix this sooner than later. |
| Comment by Terrence McAuliffe [ 25/Jul/15 ] |
|
Let me add that the airplane mode "trick" does allow you to get going, so thanks for that. |
| Comment by Terrence McAuliffe [ 25/Jul/15 ] |
|
Just to confirm this still is problem on iPad 1 with 16gb and 7gb free. I tried hard and soft rebooting and redownload. Freezes shortly after splash screen every time. Previous versions were laggy but did work. |

you're the best Mark! thanks it worked and it will do until (if ever) the issue gets fixed. thank you my daughter is very happy now |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 15/Jul/15 ] |
|
Unfortunately, Majong has failed in even aknowledging this failed patch. It's a shame they chose this route. You can turn airplane mode on then launch single player mode (tap cancel on the WiFi disabled error). |

any news on update please? my youngest is really missing it and getting another ipad is not an option. im sure its a really simple thing to do, someone please? anyone please? |

Any update as to when this very bad bug is going to transition from "open" to "in progress". It would be nice to know that someone is at least working on a fix. |
| Comment by Ger Maguire [ 07/Jul/15 ] |
|
This was on twitter from one of the developers, so that probably means that anything else like our issue isnt really a priority and all the focus will be to get Windows 10 PE version out, Tommaso Checchi @_tomcc Jul 4 Our only hope is that the 0.12 release for Windows 10 will include an IOS 5 fix! |

For those who were considering getting a new(er) iPad to deal with this issue - because the issue was causing so much angst with my kids I gave up and purchased a refurbished iPad 3. Minecraft PE works on that iOS (doesn't freeze/crash), except local server multiplayer - the kids cannot see each other's worlds, even though both have the "local server multiplayer" option selected and are on the same WiFi network (one has Android, one has iOS). Just mentioning this in case others were thinking of getting a new iOS device - while it is better there are still issues. |

I'm having the same problem when updated mine craft to v 0.11.1 in iPad 1 v 5.1.1 AND iPod iOS v 6.1.6, with wifi / airplane mode turned on and off. Both presents Mojang screen, and after some seconds come back to default screen. When double click main button, I can seen the mine craft icon, as running application. However, if I click on it, it happens again the Mojang screen for some seconds, and over again. Delete and and reinstall helps ? Thanks for any support. |

Since the purchase of mojang it really isn't a small company, that minecraft PE development group may be small compared to others. We do understand that a fix can't be immediately addressed and delivered but we should atleast expect to get a response along the lines of "we hope to address this issue in the next patch" or "we apologize and this issue will not be addressed for that version of IOS". It has been an open ticket for three weeks now with no response. |
| Comment by Katten [ 29/Jun/15 ] |

Mojang is a small company by modern day standards, and certain issues may take disagreeable amount of time to be reviewed and resolved. Directly contacting iTunes or Mojang is a potential resolution for the issue, and all users exercise the right to discuss this in the comment section (along with nearly anything else, provided their comments do not concern content unrelated to the bug). Note: No users here will be banned, as none yet have violated any rules. Any ban requests would have been refused. |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 29/Jun/15 ] |

Thanks for AMANing up lol. no worries. All it would have taken is Mojang to come out after they realized "oh crap maybe this thing isn't working on the Ipad1" and it would have calmed things. They aren't speed demons by any stretch, but there are SO many of them! At least offer a roll back so little johnny doesn't cry all day. |

I am very sorry about my last comment. I didn't realize it would come off to be so harsh. I do not work for mojang, I am a volenteer. Sometimes I just get frustrated with people saying the same thing over and over. I owe an apology to you because what I said was not right. Please forgive me. -AMAN |

Threatening to ban a legit unaddressed bug commenter is unprofessional. Everything in AMAN's post was screenshotted and will be addressed in the appropriate channels. Has he exhibited this type of behavior before? Mojang is really dropping the ball here and alienating many (former?) true supporters. Up until this bug I sang praises about Minecraft. |
| Comment by Matt Goetsch [ 28/Jun/15 ] |
|
I'd have to agree, there haven't been any "inappropriate" comments I have seen here, only valid reports requesting attention which have been ignored by devs. I also agree the ban hammer is not acceptable customer service. I also find it interesting the recent posts imply that 0.11.1 was intended for Droid users and possibly never even made it to testing on iOS at all. Because I post all my untested Google Play game apps for Google Droid on iTunes because that is obviously where most Droid users get their game apps. Again, posts like that do nothing but make the situation worse, similar to the implication that appearing at Minecon is more important than an actual functional product to promote. It's very possible that might be more profitable but it is not "support" for this issue. I suppose I will soon be banned, but it's not like any users were receiving anything except for ban threats on this "support" forum anyway. I appreciate the input of fellow users who have instruction and posts from iTunes showing how to get refunds, and the informative post describing how to attempt to retrieve 0.10.4 from your recycle bin. As stated before, I got my refund already, and I have given up hope anyone from Mojang will address this constructively anytime soon, and now I am also tired of their borderline abusive mods. Best of luck to the patient users (former users?) who are willing to continue to put up with this type of thing. |
| Comment by Karl Leaning [ 28/Jun/15 ] |

As a software professional, @AMAN4700 I am gob-smacked by the total lack of professionalism in your response. First Mojang has not provided feed back to valid issues related to bugs in its product, and then when people get restless and start complaining to Apple, Microsoft, or heavens forbid, the actual developers of the product, you threaten to have their JIRA account removed. As for your suggestion that people go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new device, I am sure that that will go down well with your employers. Apart from pouring petrol into the flames, I can not see how you expected your comments to help. If you really want people to settle down, how about somebody at Mojang acknowledges that there is a problem and informs users that it is actively being addresses and when we can expect to get a result. |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 28/Jun/15 ] |
|
OR, you can still exercise your right to submit to the avenues available since the developer failed to address this issue. they should not have offered the update to IOS 5 devices if that was the case. |
| Comment by Matt Goetsch [ 28/Jun/15 ] |
|
@Vince Hilliard that is iTunes' support first response to EVERYTHING to try to avoid having to do any actual work. As demonstrated on this forum they WILL refund you with store credit (it took me three emails and the first try I got the reply you posted here too). And yes, it is a developer issue but the two factors to push with iTunes are 1) you and MANY others have been contacting the developer for a month and haven't even gotten a reply of recognition much less even 5 seconds of actual work on the broken patch and 2) iTunes lists 0.11.1 as functional on iOS 5.x and up which is absolutely false advertising for a paid app and while iTunes isn't responsible for the app, they are responsible for iTunes page with the false information on it. Again, I'd be perfectly okay with Mojang or Apple just making 0.11.1 unavailable to iOS 5 users so those users would have to stay on 0.10.4 but even that seems like it may be too difficult so just take the refund and buy a game that actually works or put the money towards a gen4 iPad. |
| Comment by Vince Hilliard [ 28/Jun/15 ] |
|
I've tried contacting ITunes who says it is a developer issue and not a device issue, I've also emailed mojang and Microsoft with no luck. A lot of the mojang team was at Microsoft last week visiting so maybe one person cared to bring it up then. |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 28/Jun/15 ] |
|
Mojang failed on this update. Either: A) They didn't test it on IOS 5.x (not likely) FAIL. Has anyone tried contacting Microsoft, or is that not a done deal yet? |
| Comment by Matt Goetsch [ 28/Jun/15 ] |
|
"Address a bug immediately" wha? This issue has been posted for almost four weeks! If indeed Mojang prefers reddit or email for bug reporting, then the help links on their page and iTunes page that direct to this forum are at worst incorrect and at best not optimal? Actually, since they clearly do not play test their patches much before releasing them, it may not be so far fetched that their support pages are outdated or inaccurate as well. |
| Comment by Ger Maguire [ 27/Jun/15 ] |
|
I also did get several rather unhelpful comments from one of the supposed support staff @marc_IRL 0/8 accounts you've tweeted at are MCPE developers, and one isn't even a company account :-/ Shows a lot of concern re the issue really !!! |
| Comment by Ger Maguire [ 27/Jun/15 ] |

I totally agree, everyone should add a negative feedback comment to appstore! |

The developers are rarely able to read or respond to
A more reliable method than those listed above would be by reddit, or through email. |

I tweeted Mojang support and got no help. Me: Why isnt Mojang assisting or responding with bugs with MSPE not working IOS 5 I also tweeted the Minecraft employees on their page feed https://mojang.com/ so they know there is an issue, now its their call to rectify it. |

Update, I just received a credit from Apple due to no response or update addressing the but that we are all seeing for IOS 5.x and this update. "Thank you for your understanding about this matter and I’m glad that you’re happy with the credits I’ve issued on your account. Mark, you can work with the developer of the said application. 'If you have been unable to contact them through their support link, then I advise that you use the "Ratings and Review" page on the app description page to let them know of the problem. This will be fully visible to other customers and will ensure that they deal with it to avoid any other negative reviews.' If you run into anymore problems with the iTunes Store or your account, please don't hesitate to write back to us. Again, please accept my sincerest apology about the issue you’ve experienced with the App you purchase. You may wish to bookmark the URL below my name for future reference. This way, if you need to contact us for anything, just select "Contact Support", and we're just a click away. Have a good one! Sincerely, Ivan |

Keep submitting to the links above, I am getting very good responses from apple, they are going to follow up with Mojang. Apparently the update states it will work with IOS 5.x when it doesn't. This is a violation of publishing an app. If they had posted or updated that it required 6 or higher, they would have had to state that. |

I will post how to submit a bug/refund in itunes shortly, Please take the time to submit this form. https://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/emails/new?ref=footer ALSO, direct for to Itunes support for apps purchased >90 days ago (if you have purchased minecraft PE in the last 90 days you can proceed with refund option within Itunes==>account) |

Mojang, can we get a comment on the status of this, if you don't care or don't want to bother with this bug at least have the decency and courtesy to tell us so we can let our 4year old sons know it will never be fixed and try and stop them crying! |
| Comment by Mark Uptergrove [ 24/Jun/15 ] |

It appears since Mojang has not responded to this, I would encourage everyone to request a refund and report to Apple. From another user "iTunes issued me a iTunes store credit for the purchase price of Minecraft PE today after I contacted them about being unable to play the paid app for weeks now with no official recognition of a problem from Mojang. They also said they would "investigate" the compatibility issue on Apple's side." They really missed the opportunity to address this issue. It is not selective, it affects ALL IOS 5.x devices. |

|
Any update on a possible fix? Or is there a way to remove the latest update and revert to the version that worked on this device? |
| Comment by Margareta Knauff [ 24/Jun/15 ] |
|
I reported the issue to iTunes as the moderator suggested, but agree with what Vince HIlliard said - what is the point of reporting things here if Mojang doesn't check it? We are following the protocol they ask us to follow, but it sounds like it is pointless if the developers don't even look at the bug reporting system. |
| Comment by Vince Hilliard [ 24/Jun/15 ] |
|
I'm still confused the app says to post bugs to this blog but the developers don't check it even though it says the case has been assigned? |

So mojang is deleting posts rather than respond? |
| Comment by Vince Hilliard [ 23/Jun/15 ] |
|
Why are the posts deleted by mojang but they won't respond? Ridiculous that it has been over two weeks that my three IOS devices are basically useless for the kids because of no wifi play and crashes. |
| Comment by Matt Goetsch [ 23/Jun/15 ] |

So far Apple refuses to even change the false description on iTunes that states that Mojang's Minecraft PE update 0.11.1 works on iOS 5.1.1 and higher which as you all know is absolutely false. I am also pursuing a refund through iTunesand will keep you posted. This is a sad end to a great game, Mojang should be ashamed for not even making a statement on this problem. |

I will report to iTunes as well. |

I just reported this patch to iTunes as unstable/untested on iOS earlier than 6 and requested it be removed from iTunes for users of iOS prior to 6 because the patch developer refuses to fix it or address the issue. I will keep you all posted on their response. |

I have iPad 2 and iOS 5.1.1 and my game won't work. I contacted Mojang Support and told them about this problem, but they said that it is not their job to fix such errors, Mojang has to fix them... Turning off WiFi makes the game work, but I want to play Multiplayer. Please do tell me if there is any mod or something that can fix my game because I just want to play Multiplayer!!! |

Has there been any official recognition of this problem from Mojang yet? |
| Comment by Steve Holloway [ 19/Jun/15 ] |

On a first gen iPad, running IOS 5.1.1, if you disable the wireless network, you'll be able to play single player. This stopped my son crying whilst the bug gets fixed. However, with the network disabled, P2P and connections to external servers won't work. |

For the time being, at least they could do a roll back since it is confirmed! |

No. They should comment here once they are aware of the issue. |

IS there any response from Mojang on this issue? It isn't isolated to certain devices, it appears to be on ALL IOS 5 devices. |

I have contacted Mojang on the issue, and am currently awaiting their response. |

Dear MOJANG Please communicate with your valuable customers about this issue. We need a progress report typed by a human employee......Please give us some insight regarding the solution. |
| Comment by Matt Goetsch [ 17/Jun/15 ] |
|
Temporarily it's very easy to disable iTunes updates for certain iOS versions, and Mojang needs to make this update unavailable for iOS prior to 6. This will allow gen1 users to actually download the working 0.10.4 update and give a message of "This update is not available for this version of iOS" if you try to upgrade to 0.11 or higher. The real solution is fix the update before release, but at least this way gen1 iPad users will have access to the last working patch again in the meantime. |

Agree, we need an update on this issue or a fix, which isn't turning off your wifi! The fun of the games playing with siblings and friends. I believe there has been enough response from minecraft(PE) users for the minecraft team(mojang) to come up with a solution. |

Can we get an update on the status of this issue, is there a known issue identified that can be fixed. |

Same issue - freezes unless wifi is disabled. Renders the game useless for multiplayer - very disappointing. |

Exact same issue here. Please either patch or roll this back. |

My son has 1st gen iPad and also has this issue. iOS is the most current available for this version, according to Apple. We thought it was a memory or resource issue and went in and deleted ALL of his photos and videos to free up space, but that didn't make a difference. Turning off WiFi seems to help, but then the game is in single player mode, and the main reason he wants to play on iPad is so his siblings can join him in his world. |

I have 3 iPad gen1s as stated earlier and three kids with unique iTunes user accounts, the wifi solution does NOT work consistently and the presence or absence of wifi is NOT the sole cause of this problem. Again this update needs to be rolled back for iOS earlier than 6.0 immediately so that users of gen1 can download 0.10.4 again and actually play the game. |

HI, it happens the same with my Kid's iPAD1. If I try to turn off the Wifi, it does not work neither. |

Same problem, gen1 iPad, my two kids love playing and i sometimes join in on my iPhone, but the iPad1 no longer functions creating a fun meltdown wherever we play. Freezes on launch or immediately after entering game. Previously we had enjoyed many hours of playing together Clean install and reboot didn't help. But, indeed airplane mode did fix single player mode which is at least a half solution for now. |

Same thing happening for my boys iPad first gen. Disabling wifi works but like the previous poster stated - true enjoyment is playing with each other! Please fix! |

This unpredictable update should never have been approved for gen1 iPad users. I have seen the supposed wifi fix fail using 3 different gen1 iPads with three different iTunes accounts, and honestly that's not a valid fix since 95% of the game is cooperative play whether Hive or local server. Please fix this update or at LEAST remove it from the available update list for gen1 users so it just gives the message "this update is not available for this IOS" which is easy to do until there is a stable fix for gen1. |

It looks as though the following tickets are also reporting the same issue on iPad1: (this one has the most votes though, so I suggest this ticket should be the main focus) (thankfully wifi disable is avoiding the crash for us, though from the tickets it seems it doesn't work for everyone) |

I've just completed the update (1st gen iPad, iOS 5.1.1) for my son and we are also freezing after about 20 seconds of load up!!!! Frustrating!!!! That's if it doesn't force close on the Mojang logo!!! |

Appreciate the temporary workaround, but the true value of the game exists when I can collaborate with my son inside of the game. I posted another bug for newer devices that renders the wifi multiplayer connection nonexistent too. Hope this gets fixed quickly. |

It has something to do with Wifi on iPad 1. While not a solution, it's a start. |

We have 2 unhappy Minecraft Players at my house since the update on their iPad 1. Minecraft it is not working just freezes In the world if it gets that far loading. Please fix this issue soon. |

I have exactly the same issue. Updated to v.0.11.1 on an original iPad with iOS 5.1.1. After start up the app freezes in less than a minute no matter what you do. No way to unfreeze the app. It has rendered the game completely unusable. Wish we were warned not to update original iPads as the game worked fine before the update. |

After automatic undate to MCPE V0.11.0 (I didn't authorize), worlds will not load anymore. Can create new ones, but old ones crash game. Not interested in playing anymore if old ones don't load. Using an iPad version 8.3. |

My daughters iPad 5.1.1 is doing the same thing ever since doing the update today. She is absolutely beside herself, she loves minecraft and now if just freezes or kicks her out within 20-30 seconds. My son on the other hand has the newest iPad and his took the update just fine. Please fix this soon!! |

Seeing the same issue on ipad 1. Freezes after 20 seconds. Ipad air 2 works fine. |

This update has rendered my son's MCPE absolutely useless on his iPad 1. 75% of the time it freezes on the "play" screen. 25% it freezes on the world select screen. Actual game play is nonexistent. |
