Several times in different worlds, I've found new villages with villagers running around. I know villagers aren't returning to their houses at night, so I'm used to seeing the blacksmith running around when I get to a village, but I've found plain old farmers running around, too. I know villagers can't open doors on their own. Because they just wander off, I don't open their doors for them unless I've walled-off the whole village. Today, I found 3 villagers wandering around - the blacksmith and two farmers - and found 2 farmer houses without doors. What I expected to happen was: What actually happened was: Steps to Reproduce: Included screenshots: I'm playing SSP, but staying in peaceful mode until I can round up the villagers, wall them in, and build an iron golem to keep them safe. |

Villagers spawning in houses without doors is WAI? Or the house shown in the screenshot without a door is WAI? |

It's possible, but it still doesn't explain: (1) Farmers running around when a player enters a village for the first time. (2) Scenario in my 3rd comment where - after a crash - a villager spawned inside of a house I'd placed a door on, but when the villager spawned, the door was missing due to the crash. My concern is more about farmers running loose in the village for no apparent reason. With the downgraded villager AI in the current version of MCPE, villagers outside of their houses are nothing more than zombie bait. |

#2 - You misunderstood my statement. Villagers not being able to open doors WAI for villager AI in version 0.10.4. That is a known fact. Because villagers do not have the AI to open doors, the only way they can be out of their houses has to be due to one of the following scenarios: (1) Player opens the door. I don't open doors for villagers because their current AI doesn't program them to return home at night and doesn't keep them in the village. (2) The door is damaged by player, fire, or hostile mob. Again, I know better than to mess with the doors until villagers have their AI upgraded in a later version. Fire isn't an issue. I know to put out the fire in the blacksmith shop as soon as I get to a village because I had one village where the butcher's shop caught on fire and the butcher ran off after his door burned down. Can't be hostile mobs breaking down or damaging doors because these worlds are in peaceful mode. (3) The villager spawned in a house without a door. The blacksmith shop is a perfect example because the blacksmith shop isn't supposed to have a door. Finding the blacksmith running around and wandering into caves is expected until the AI upgrade keeps villagers in the house/village. However, the blacksmith is a unique case because the blacksmith's shop isn't supposed to have a door to begin with. Farmers shouldn't be spawning in houses without doors, but I have evidence of farmer huts without doors and farmers outside of houses before the player has even entered the village for the first time. |

For 1, I'm not sure. For 2, I don't think it's implemented yet. And the last one, I don't know it either. |

Two other notes and another scenario that might help clarify: 1. In the village above, there are 3 homes without doors. Two are small hut-style houses, and one is the watchtower-style house with ladder, roof access, and fencing around the roof. Even if there is one style of house that is supposed to generate without a door, I've got two styles of houses without doors. 2. Farmers are running loose in the village, but villagers can't open doors yet. How can that be explained? The other scenario: I generated another world where I found a desert village. I stationed myself in the watchtower with my crafting table, furnace, a chest, etc. I closed off the roof opening and installed a door. Later, the app crashed while I was using the furnace. When I opened it again, I was back in my house, but there was a villager in there, too. And my door was gone. No door, but a random villager spawned in a previously villager-free house after a crash. |

The house in the screenshot isn't a watchtower or whatever that style of house is called. This has no ladder, no roof opening, and no fence around the roof. I know those spawn without doors. This is a standard farmer house. I double checked to make sure of that before I posted anything. |

WAI. That house in the screenshot isn't supposed to have a door. It is the only house that spawns without doors. |
