It lights up, but no red particle effects are given off like in past versions

Alex Stein, can you please provide more details of what you were doing and what you expected to have happen? I think this has confused Alex Bracken or me.

I presume by "when it is lit up" you mean when you tap a block of redstone ore once (i.e. without your player taking a punch/swing at the block) causing the redstone block to become a temporary light source. I contrast this with when you tap and hold on the block causing the player to start mining the redstone ore.

I confirm that when you tap the block it lights up and no mining particles appear, however no particles appear when I tap any other block the same way either. Accordingly, I recommend resolving this report as 'Works as Intended'. Since I may be misunderstanding something for lack of detail, please elaborate or let me know if I've figured it out.
