 Description

Mega jungle tree and dark oak branches can cut through full blocks when grown from saplings, rather than simply growing around the blocks as with giant oaks.
Found by planting 2x2 arrangement of saplings from the tree types listed above next to a 4-block row of full blocks in the area where the tree's branches spawn (shown in the attached images). Grown using bonemeal while in creative mode.

This still happens in 1.2.13.60 for jungle saplings. I ran the same experiment, in the same world which I just was able to get into after a long time of crashing, and jungle tree branches replace bedrock wall when the tree grows.

Persists in 1.1.

Persists in 1.0.0

Affects 0.16.0 as well.

Reopened based on user comments.

Edit: I've tested this and can confirm it's an issue on 0.15.9 Win10

Comment by Specialistol [ 03/Oct/16 ]

Happens on Windows 10, 0.15.9.
Please reactivate.

Comment by Zeb [ 28/Jun/16 ]

Cannot reproduce in 0.15.1. (Tested on Windows 10.)

Comment by Katten [ 01/Dec/15 ]

Confirmed to affect 0.13.0 on iPhone 6+ (iOS 9.1).

Comment by Cameron Johnson [ 30/Nov/15 ]

To this bug specifically, no. So this bug is resolved...
I am referring to another issue, but I am uncertain if this has been reported separately.

When trees are "grown" Cameron

Comment by Cameron Johnson [ 30/Nov/15 ]

Well, is this the same issue?
I see some trees generated when creating a new world have been 'cut off,' or seem to cut off at chunk boundaries.

Comment by AMAN4700 [ 30/Nov/15 ]

Does this bug still appear in 0.13.0? If so please respond.

Comment by rplatham [ 24/Sep/15 ]

Confirmed on Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 5.0.1 Dirt blocks floating above a 2x2 jungle sapling were destroyed by the tree generated when I applied bonemeal to the sapling group.

Comment by Katten [ 24/Sep/15 ]

Confirmed to effect 0.12.1 on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 9.0).

Comment by [Mojang] MissMarzenia (Aleksandra Zajac) [ 07/Aug/15 ]

If you can still reproduce this bug, please update affected versions.

Comment by AMAN4700 [ 04/Jul/15 ]

I meant the dark oak branches

Comment by Katten [ 03/Jul/15 ]

Note that big oak branches are not a viable source for the issue; as written in the description, this is only known to affect dark oak and mega jungle trees.

Comment by AMAN4700 [ 03/Jul/15 ]

I can not confirm this on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Android 5.0 Version: 0.11.1. The leaves cut through, not a bug, but the branches do not. No blocks are replaced.

Comment by HyperCamel [ 05/Apr/15 ]

I see, I haven't played on the PC Version since 1.7.2 XD

Comment by Katten [ 05/Apr/15 ]

Hi Alex, this was unintended on the PC version as well, and is fixed as of the latest release. See MC-10176 for more details.

Comment by HyperCamel [ 04/Apr/15 ]

This is an intended feature I believe, happens in PC version too

Comment by AMAN4700 [ 22/Mar/15 ]

Not confirmed on Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Android 4.4.2 kitkat. For me it just cuts leaves through, but isnt destroying the bedrock.
