Fresh install of MCPE 0.10.4 on an Android tablet. Starts up ok. Click Play and then New. Enter details of World and click Create World! Tried on similar tablet and it works ok. Examined tablet storage by connecting to a PC. Did same on other tablet and noticed that there were more files in each created world. Ran PocketMine server on my PC. Both tablets show the server world in the list and when selected, they both connect and work as expected. Files in a world folder on "non-working" version:
Files in a world folder on "working" version:
Both tablets are running Android KitKat 4.4.2 and the same version of MCPE (v0.10.4 alpha) |

Thank you for your report! Is this still affecting the latest version? Several crash related issues have been resolved in the last few updates, as the developers have been working hard behind the scenes. If you are still having this issue with any worlds, you may wish to upload a copy of your saved world for further investigation. We can't respond to every message individually but please be reassured we take your bug reports seriously and are grateful for the input. Quick Links: |

Joey Hollis. And in answer to your question... Yes, I have tried it on other devices - one f which is identical in appearance to the one on which it fails (but has a quad-core CPU compared with a dual-core). What really p*sses me off about it is that Mojang have been adding more and more functionality to the program without first making it stable enough to run on all hardware that it claims to support. |

Phil Rogers have you tried using a different device like what Device do you use for the game |

After years of not getting a resolution on this for my son's tablet, I now find that the latest version crashes on my phone, on which it has run without trouble for 2 years until now. We have uninstalled the app from all of our devices, because it is just a big pile of crap. |

nearly 1 year later, and still no resolution for me. <"My World" can't be opened > In fact, the app has now disappeared from my PlayStore account. I would purchase again, but not very confident! We tried for many months, 3 different devices ( 1 smartphone, 2 tablets). Zero support from Mojang. Apart from a generic message to say issue was 'resolved' - not for me!!!! |

Make sure the folder for minecraft saves isn't write protected, meaning (read only). |

Just tried it on 0.14.1. Although we can connect to worlds on other devices, my 8-year old son has now given up with MCPE and has begun telling his friends what a load of rubbish it is because in the 16 months he's had it, he hasn't been able to play it standalone. He wants to know why Mojang keep working on adding new features but don't bother getting the basic game working properly. |

Please confirm if this still affects 0.14.1 |

this app was purchased, but never used because of this bug. no worlds ever created before, no new worlds can be created. for more than a month now, i have been rapped on the knuckles by various MOJANG mods for not following proper reporting protocol. so i've figured out that replies and comments are fast & furious for everything EXCEPT the issue at hand - "My World" can't be opened. This is a screenshot of my daughter's device. She got the device & app as a birthday gift, solely to play MC. Both are sitting useless on my desk for over a month. |

I forgot to mention that he is using Minecraft PE 0.13.1 and cannot open any worlds locally. |

I can confirm that this is also happening on my son's tablet. He has a BTC flame 7029C running Android 4.4.4. Kernel version is 3.4.0+ |

I am a Beta tester, so I get more updates and still nothing works. I haven't tried a pre 0.9 version because I don't know how to get one. I only ever see the latest version on Google Play. No point in asking if I've tried an earlier version without telling me how to get one, is there? |

Same isue here. Could u please take a look into this? Its kinda frustrating. Divice is a Actions K700 tablet. Same findings as above at Lindens post. I suspect this bug happens on the cheaper tablets. |

I'm getting this same issue on v0.13.1 - The issue is exactly as described (Can't open world, can connect to worlds generated by other devices, can see worlds copied from another device but then fails to open them when copied locally). My nephew is pretty upset his chirstmas pressent still isn't working. Device: tabl-it (https://www.besttabletcompany.co.uk/product/tabl-it-7/) Opening I found the following error:
I also appear to have an extra db folder:

Also, although my expectations are low that this was fixed in the latest version, have either of you tried the latest beta testing build of 0.13.0? To see how to become a beta tester and receive the development builds for 0.13 go here. |

Hi Cafetorium and rgreenly@gmail.com, no we won't delete the comment and there are no supervisors or escalation of tickets in this system. Cafetorium I am still suspicious that your two devices may not be the same, especially if you believe one came to you rooted. I have tried to find an app that will export a list of all installed packages to a file so we can easily compare the two devices. Closest I have found is Stanley (Package Explorer) which allows me to see all installed packages in a list (including system packages and full names), but I cannot export it for machine comparison. You could put it on both devices, set its settings to show system packages and full names, then sort the packages alphabetically and scroll through both devices to see any differences. I have not search for this tool very thoroughly, I hope you can come up with something better. The file system for saving minecraft worlds changed from version 0.9 and above. See: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Pocket_Edition_level_format. The failing device may have a conflicting library such as Zlib compression or LevelDB that is being used instead of the ones that are in MCPE. I do not know how to determine this. Cafetorium have you tried installed a version of MCPE prior to 0.9 on the failing device to see if that works as was done by rgreenly@gmail.com? rgreenly@gmail.com, I am suspicious that there may be a piece of software on there conflicting. Can you provide details about what else you have installed after stock? Happy to keep trying to help. |

I am requesting a different tech take a look at this problem. Possibly a supervisor. This is ridicules! I have tried from my LG G4, and my LG Tablet. Both different carriers, but on the same wireless network. Same problem as everyone else. |

Resolved? Cannot reproduce? This bug was raised almost a year ago and you've given up trying? I'm sure you'll delete this comment, but it's not going to stop me from posting about it on social networks. |

The device is a 7" tablet running Android KitKat. I have another tablet on which MCPE runs perfectly. My son is really unhappy about this. He received the tablet for Christmas last year and has been waiting for the fix for the last 10 months. As a professional software developer myself, I find it ridiculous that it still hasn't been fixed after all this time. |

1) Cannot open any world created on this tablet, and they don't appear in the list of available worlds. |

I don't know if this makes a difference, but I think the tablet that we have on which MCPE doesn't work has been rooted. It was supplied from new like that, which seems a little odd for a tablet marketed for children. |

I am on V.011.0 alpha build 13 on two different generic tablets. One works fine, the other only can share into the world created by the other tablet. Is there something "hardware wise" that would prevent this, perhaps OS version? -Rob Greenly |

Just FYI. I side loaded version 8 and it worked. So the problem lies between very.9-11. Something in there prevents worlds from loading. |

I am having the exact same issue with a tablet I just purchased. It is a no named brand from China. It fits the specs though to run the game. I installed the 0.11 alpha version after I found this issue and found that I could only connect to other hosted games on other tablets. What is the ETA on this fix? |

Installed 0.11.0 alpha build 5. Copied in a world from another Android tablet on which MCPE works ok. Therefore, not fixed in 0.11.0 alpha build 5. |
